Bruce Scher's Goodyear Deceptive Practice/Unnecessary Repairs Ripoff North Las Vegas Nevada

Took my car to Bruce Scher's Good Year in North Las Vegas 2705 W. Centennial for an oil change/free tire rotation. As I sat in the waiting room, an upset woman explained to me that she recently brought her van in for an oil change/tire rotation and was told she was in desperate need of brakes. The woman told me she thought her brakes were fine(only 22,000 miles on vehicle)but agreed to have her brakes replaced at a costo of over $300.00. She agreed to the repair without question because her husband was ill and she needed a reliable vehicle in case of emergency. The woman explained she was returning the van for additional brake work because the repair was faulty and her breaks were squeaking...an additional $100.00 for more brake repairs.

Coincidentally as she complained to me, I was summoned by the manager to take a look at my brakes. He explained that my brakes needed to be replaced, he said they checked the brakes with a micrometer and they were totally out of limits--he quoted me a $350.00 repair price. He went on to say I should have rotor work done too.

After listening to the woman's story I declined the offer, I only had 24,000 miles on my car. I took my car to a local "Just Brakes" shop for a second opinion. The manager returned after a ten minute brake inspection and informed me that I didn't need brakes. He told me I had about 5,000 miles left on the pads.

Bottom line: Beware of "FREE tire rotations" at this Bruce Scher's Good Year location. In my opinion, they use the free tire rotation as a lure to lead you to pay for unnecessary repairs!!!!
