I rented a 16' Budget Truck from Wilmington, DE to Northport,NY. The pull out ramp was completely stuck, 3 young guys and we couldn't pull it out after 20 minutes of trying! I was forced to lift everything up myself, which KILLED my back, were talking couches, beds, desks, dressers, the only thing I couldn't bring was my big screen projection T.V. for obvious reasons. When I got back to NY I had another day with the truck, but it didn't matter I had to wait longer, take off work, and have friends and family take off to help me unload. I was physically exhausted by then from all the lifting and driving, and unfortunately since the ramp didn't work I was late to my destination point. I called Budget asking for a FULL refund and how they could compensate me. All I got was "we can refund you the extra day you were charged." We'll obviously I will not pay that now and dispute all charges, I am contact BBB and my lawyer as well. The providing dealer should ensure all maintence checks have been preformed before the truck leaving, it is a mechanical problem, just as it would have been if the wheels fell off. People rent 16' and above trucks solely for that purpose: BECAUSE THEY NEED A RAMP OR LIFT GATE!!!!!!! If it doesn't work then what the F****! They said b/c I did not contact roadside assistance they could not help me any further, but I was never informed about that, and who knows how long they would have taken, unfortunately I was on a time contraint, and didn't want to get charged the extra day!!! HA! how Ironic. I will def. never use Budget again, unless they get at min. pay for the difference or transportation costs to ship my t.v.! U-HAUL ALL THE WAY!

I probably wouldn't have given you a refund either. You should have taken the truck back when you first noticed the problem. Maybe they could have fixed the problem or loaned you another truck.

you could have just checked out the unit before accepting it. They did not tell you to leave the TV behind...you elected to for some odd reason. If it was really that important, you would have found a way to get it loaded.

If you ARE looking for HORRIBLE customer service be sure to contact "CHAD" at Budget ID# "54293." Melissa "54073", Chad's supervisor read me the typical lines as she is instructed and wasn't so bad.
