Butcher's Best Dennis Ostromecky, Joseph (Joe) Ostromecky, 757-714-5521, 757-465-9300, 508-963-6397 Ripoff of door-to-door 'wholesale" meats, Website is fake, Prays on military members Portsmouth Virginia

A couple of men pulled up to my house in an unmarked white panel van asking if my family and I are military. They said they are selling wholesale meats and were trying to go home. The main guy introduced himself as Joe and his "name tag" stated Joseph Ostromecky Sales Manager. He asked if I would mind looking at what they have to offer, and they would give me an "outstanding" deal, because they just wanted to go home. I allowed them to come in and show me what they had to offer and the prices on cases of meat ranged from $300 for chicken to $500 for beef. Joe promised me a great deal, especially since we were military. I will include pictures of the brochure and his business card as well. I got suckered into buying meat from them because I thought I was getting a good deal and helping someone out. While he was bringing the meat into my house my mom came home with my kids. Joe told my mom, in front of my kids, "I just sold you a s**t load of meat!" He "helped" me by dumping all the meat into deep freezer and taking away the boxes so I wouldn't have all the boxes to take care of. 

After they left my mom pointed out to me that I it was weird that they were in an unmarked, NON-REFRIDGERATED van selling meats. That is also when she told me about what Joe told her in front of my children. She suggested that we look them up online since they have a website. The website of course is fake, and it should have been my first clue since the website has an apostrophe in, and that is not allowed in website names. I then found a report on rip-off report that was almost exactly what happened to me with one exception, the man’s name was Dennis not Joseph. However, the last name, being Ostromecky, is not Smith and very uncommon. I instantly called my bank and put a stop payment on the check that I gave to Joe/Dennis. BE WARNED: He asked for a check so that he could get his “bonus” by the end of the day, and wouldn’t get it if I used a credit card.

I then tried to call Joe/Dennis and let him know that I wanted to cancel my order. I called him three times and he didn’t answer. I called the “office number” and the “customer service” number to no avail. I then got a call from a check cashing place regarding the check I wrote to Joe/Dennis. I told the person on the phone that I needed to speak with Joe/Dennis. SURPRISE! He called me back and I told him that I put a stop payment on the check and I was not longer able to buy his product. He tried to bargain with me, and I told him that I could not buy any of his products and he could come and pick them up at his convenience. (Two can play at this game) He stated he would need to pick up the meat that evening.

When he arrived, there was an older man with him that was never introduced to me, but was very rude and kept stating how he could not understand how I went from buying all their meat, to nothing in a matter of minutes.

They were very pushy in trying to sell me on breaking up my payments (between the 1^st and 15^th of course). They wanted to sell me anything, even on case of beef that is $489.49 in the brochure, but he was willing to sell me for $129.00. During this time the older man called “Joe: Dennis, which just confirmed my finding and choice to give the crappy meat back to these jerks. When I helped take the meat to the van I noticed they had a deep freezer in the back to store the meat, but lord knows if it was hooked to anything. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM & RUN THE OTHER WAY!!!!
