Ok, right down to the point -- This company does one hell of a job getting your confidence through the roof, however it's about the biggest waste of time you'll ever encounter.

You have the classroom portion where you try to fill out worksheets that essentially are replicas of the DMV's test while you listen to Sharon run her mouth without taking a breath, telling stories that simply don't add up. And on that note, the whole thing is pretty much set up so it's impossible to fail. I didn't study a bit, and still made passing grades 1st attempt every time.

Then the yard portion. The put a huge emphasis on safety, your safety is their primary concern, however properly training you is about the least of their concerns. The student to truck ratio was way out of balance and learning to back up was a joke....90% of backing up a truck is setting it up; they set it up for you and say here, put this in the hole, a monkey could do it.

Then to drive around...they take you to the area where the DMV will have you drive, and have you memorize those few blocks of that particular neighborhood.

More jibber jabber -- whenever someone starts a sentence with "everyone listen up, what I'm about to say could some day save you from getting a $1,500 fine...." the information that proceeded was either 1) wrong, 2) backward, or 3) things have changed in the last 30 years. Furthermore, they were constantly pestering us about "when you are assigned a trainer, the first thing he will tell you is forget everything you learned at truck driving school...." Believe me, there's MANY d*mn good reasons for this....

In conclusion, as stated they get your confidence through the roof and for getting your CDL, or a recommendation to a company, this has got to be about the easiest route thats available...However, in concern for public safety, I have to state the training here is beyond inadequate.
