My complaint is not so much on Cactus Car Wash as a company, but the auto glass shop they allow to work on their property in all 3 of their locations here in Charleston. Less than a year ago, I did have my windshield replaced by a glass company who was working there. The first, maybe not the first, thing he told me was they were on my insurance company's preferred vendor list. He also informed me that their "lifetime warranty" was honored by my insurance company. Also, he informed me of the quality of the glass they use. 3 months ago, while at the Cactus Car Wash in N. Charleston, I was approached by a sales person who is representing the glass company who now works there.

My windshield had a small chip and an even smaller crack, and I already was aware that it would only be a matter of time before I had to replace it. Since this company was being allowed to work on their (Cactus) property, I allowed him to call my insurance company. Even my own insurance company informed me that this company was not on their participating glass program and that the only warranty I could count on would be the glass company's.

I felt a bit uneasy about this, so I called my husband who works for a large body shop. Once I told him the name of the company, the Windshield Specialists, my husband became somewhat irate and told me to not do business with them. So, I didn't. Later that evening, my husband told me why. He told me that this company has changed names several times in the course of a few short years, and that they only deal with cheap after-market auto glass.  Even my husband was shocked that a great company like Cactus would allow such foolishness on their lots.

The next morning, my husband called the Cactus in N. Charleston requesting the corporate phone number to call in our complaint. The young lady who answered the phone said he could speak with the manager on duty. Our phone was on speaker, so I could hear every word. Hopefully, the corporate office of Cactus will take a stand against allowing companies like this one to service their customers on their property.

My husband and I both agreed that we will never cater to Cactus Car Washes ever again until they either remove this somewhat shady glass company, or replace it with a glass company who actually cares about their customers and their safety. Until then, Cactus has lost two frequent customers, and thanks to our ability to communicate, we are happily spreading the word.
