Caliber Collision Centers Aka Body Tek failed to repair my car & engaged in fraudulent cover up Austin Texas

Caliber Collision aka Body Tek carried out extensive repairs ($14,000) on my Honda S2000. The car was never the same.

I had to take the car back twice with the same complaints. It was in the shop for a total of 9 weeks. All to no avail.

When I picked the car up they tried to get me to sign a statement saying that I wouldn't sue them for faulty repairs and excused them from any liability arising from any accident due to faulty repairs. When I refused, they said they weren't going to release my car. When I started to leave, they back down and gave me the car.

Suspicious, I hired an automotive expert. The expert advised me that Caliber had falsified the SAI data (data which would show bent components or a bent frame) to make it look like the car was properly repaired.

After threatening to sue Caliber, they finally sent a regional manager out to talk with me. He admitted that the Caliber employee had in fact falsified the data. He wanted yet another chance to fix the car.

By then I had already signed a contract on a new car and was trading in the damaged one. Plus, there was no way I was going to allow that company to "fix" my car again.

As you might imagine, I didn't get much in way of trade-in ($9000 below market) since I had to disclose the condition of the car.

To my amazement they haven't agreed to pay me the $9000 back. I'm in the process of filing suit against them.
