I would not recommend this to any one. I took this course and have yet to find a casino job or have a interview for that matter. If ' you want to get a security casino job don't attend this school and spend your hard earned money. It is really a waste of time'since you will have to attend another academy when and if you get hired by a casino.

The Instructors say they know how to get you into a job,and that they have all these connections.I have yet to see one that will help you succeed in doing so. This is nothing but a big rip off. I feel i payed 800 dollars for nothing.

You don't HAVE to go to the PHYSICAL LOCATION to reproduce what was on the WEBSITE

I never visited California or Nevada in person.

I do not want to go to either place.

I went to the website and reproduced what was there.

And probably still us until they realize what was posted there and IF they were SMART, they will REMOVE IT.

But I am not so sure how smart they were there because ALL THE INFORMATION I GOT, I GOT OFF OF THEIR WEBSITE.

And I merely brought up the issue of looking under their financial aid tab to see what kind of financial aid they offered to their students. Found a LOT of GOOD stuff and some "I wonder why in the heck they put that under a FINANCIAL AID subject topic.

But the person who wants to TRAIN with these folks is the one who makes the ULTIMATE DECISION. NOT ME.

I just found some neat stuff on their website and thought people ought to look it up and find out for themselves.

You guys ought to read what you post.

I see no less that four manifestos here by "JOE" from Austin, Texas. This must be some disgruntled consumer who has nothing better to do with his time but ramble on and on in about nothing to give himself some sense of purpose. He obviously needs professional help. This is my last comment on this drivel.

I was agreeing with a lot of what you said.

I did NOT take CLASSES in your school because there was one very similar to it in Dallas, Texas and one in Austin,Texas and I used to see their ads on late night television and know if private security guards really did that sort of stuffi in TEXAS, they would be going to jail.

Unless it is to save a life, your business is ONLY on the post where you are assigned.Period.

I can get the same training for the same certificate for a few thousands dollars less because I will be getting the same insulting low pay and demeaning treatment whether I get the EXPENSIVE classes or the plain old back yard firing range in the country and cinderblock class room so why spend more when it will NOT benefit me.

NO, I was NOT fired from my last job.

I WAS SEVERELY INJURED ON THE JOB WHILE KEEPING A PREGNANT WOMAN AND HER TWO TODDLERS FROM BEING SLICED AND DICED WITH A MACHETE BY A DRUG-CRAZED PALO MAYOMBE PRACTITIONER. I chased him off of of my property and it was very dark there and I couldn't see the quart beer bottle in the darkness partially covered by the newspaper and I fell three feet onto tarmac and messed up both knees and my lower back. THEY DID NOT HAVE WORKERS COMPENSATION INSURANCE because IN TEXAS -- THEY DON"T HAVE TO...

And it was A WHOLE YEAR BEFORE I COULD SEE A PHYSICIAN BECAUSE I WAS NOT BEING PAID ENOUGH TO HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE... EVEN IF THEY HAD OFFERED IT.
And at another lousy private security guard contracting service I worked for, they DID offer it BUT the deductible was too high AND THEY FORGOT TO PAY THE PREMIUMS. I don't know how in the hell they thought they could get away with it.

By the time I COULD SEE THE PHYSICIAN PAID FOR BY THE TAXPAYERS BECAUSE THE ********** EMPLOYERS HAD FILED BANKRUPTCY AND GONE OUT OF BUSINESS because of several other incidents including fines form the State Board for non-compliance,etc. I HAD OSTEOARTHRITIS AS A DIRECT RESULT OF THOSE INJURIES AND HAD TO GET INTO A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT LINE OF WORK.

Prior to that, I had 20 years working in the private Security GUARD INDUSTRY and some of those were spent as a PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR and I have obtained additional training so I am not your typical functional illiterate sekoority gard.
I have been an operations manager and a troubleshooter who saves the posts that the incompetence of others nearly caused the company to lose for them.

And I have lost track of all of the no-good sorry *******s iin this industry I have worked for.

I think i would rather have worked for the Marcellos Crime Family because I think they would have treated me better.

I HAVE NO DESIRE TO WORK IN A CASINO OR ANYWHERE ORGANIZED CRIME OCCURS. I GREW UP IN NEW ORLEANS LOUISIANA AND I HAD RELATIVES WHO WERE CONNECTED SO WHO ARE YOU TRYING TO KID! IT TOOK ME ONLY A FEW MINUTES TO WRITE.

'Joe', or whoever he is should know that if he took this class anytime since we started over eight years ago that he could come back and we will work with him to help him get a job at no cost to him; even if he was fired from his last job. We have trained over 2000 security officers in that 8 year period and during that time and 80% of those graduates were employed within two weeks of graduation I have discovered one inalienable truth during that time: 20% of the people taking this class don't really want a job. They are willing to pay the training cost just so they will have someone to blame for their ongoing failures in life.

IT IS INSANITY TO FREQUENT A PLACE WHERE THE ODDS ARE CONSISTENTLY STACKED AGAINST YOU AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT PRIVATE CONTRACT SECURITY GUARD SERVICES DO HERE I ACTUALLY WANTED TO SEE IF THEY WERE ALL ALIKE SO I WORKED FOR AS MANY AS I COULD AND THEY ALL DO THE SAME THING!

I DID GIVE THEM ALL A FAIR CHANCE. MUCH TO MY DETRIMENT.

This is the main reason that we offer 'Job placement assistance' and not a guaranteed job. We charge only for the training, not for job placement assistance, that is free, a courtesy.

THAT IS WHAT I SAID. THERE ARE NO GUARANTEES IN LIFE. IF THEY WANT TO WORK FOR A CASINO, THEY NEED TO UNDERSTAND HOW PLAYING THE ODDS WORKS. NOTHING GUARANTEES YOU A JOB ANYWHERE DOING ANYTHING IN TODAY'S ECONOMY. I AGREE WITH YOU ON THAT.

Think about it this way. Job training is a 'tool', how you use that tool will determine the success or failure of the 'tool' and the user. The graduate is given the 'tool', instructions on how to use it, and projects to work on with the tool to create something valuable. If one doesn't use the 'tool' or misuses it, no good will come of it.

THIS IS TRUE OF ANY SCHOOL. YOU PAYS YOUR MONEY AND YOU TAKES YOUR CHANCES... JUST LIKE A ROULETTE WHEEL AT THE CASINO. IT JUST SEEMS THAT IT IS RIGGED AGAINST CERTAIN RACES, GENDERS, ETHNICITIES, ETC.

If you have ever hit your thumb with a hammer or cut your hand carving a turkey, have you ever blamed the hammer or the knife? Of course not. There are those who do as ridiculous as that sounds.


NO, I BLAME THE CROOKS AND CRAZIES WHO RUN THE PRIVATE SECURITY INDUSTRY AND THE FEDS WHO NEED TO STEP IN AND REGULATE IT!

BUT YOU HAVE TO CONSIDER VALUE FOR THE MONEY. WILL THIS TRAINING HELP ME GET MORE MONEY? HERE IN TEXAS, IT IS NO!

Vance, (I'm laughing as I write this) did you really search through your records for a "Conway Trucker"? It seems to me that, since you work for a security training company, you should be a little better at deductive reasoning than that. Hmmmmmm. Conway Trucker. Let's see. Conway is a shipping company that uses trucks. Trucker is an individual who drives a truck. Seems to me that you should be looking for an employee or ex-employee of Conway. Eh what the hell do I know though, I'm just a dumb mechanic. Now as far as job placement assistance, I agree that there are no guarantees, but perhaps maybe your company should have assisted him a little more in his job search, at least to make him feel like he got what he paid for.

I have no idea who this person is. Out of over 2000 people over the past eight years, we have no record of anyone by that name ever attending any of our facilities in Las Vegas, San Francisco or Los Angeles. If he had in fact ever been a graduate, he would know that we do not guarantee employment. Only placement assistance. As a matter of statistic approximately 80% of our graduates are employed within the first two weeks. The other twenty percent seem to give up at the beginning or after a coulple of months. They just stop calling us for assistance. I don't know the reason for that. A lot of the time "persistence" will make it happen.

The first page GUARANTEES JOB PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE, IT DOES NOT GUARANTEE A JOB and that is their disclaimer, their legal "out." They can CLAIM that they promised to HELP YOU FIND A JOB, NOT THAT YOU WOULD GET A JOB AS A RESULT OF TAKING THEIR TRAINING.
ANYMORE THAN TRAINING CLASSES AT ITT WILL GUARANTEE YOU A JOB IN ELECTRONICS, IT, FORENSICS OR A FOUR-YEAR COLLEGE DEGREE WILL AUTOMATICALLY GUARANTEED YOU A JOB. UNLESS YOU HAVE an accounting degree or some other training that is high demand like a nursing degree or IT or programming degree....

The CSI (California Security Institute) does in fact promise job placement to graduates of their over priced academy. The job placement that is provided is that the office girl provides individuals with copies of job postings from craigslist, no staff of that organization attempts to personally place anyone. The ciriculam is not structured in most cases.The last I heard, the company did not even hold a city business licsense in Las Vegas. $800 is way out of line for the program offered and it is true that ALL casinos have their own training.

How Security Academies Usually Work

Here in Texas, you can't carry a firearm on your security job unless you have had a Commission Class given by a security academy that is licensed by the State -- here all of this is regulated by the Department of Public Safety's Bureau of Private Security and they have a website where you can check out the schools and make sure they are licensed.

While you are attending school, you are supposed to be networking with your classmates to see if they know of any jobs when you get out.

Also, when you get out, you are ELIGIBLE to be commissioned BUT THE SCHOOLS DO NOT PROMISE YOU A JOB.

YOU HAVE TO GO OUT AND FIND YOUR OWN JOB.

I SUGGEST THAT YOU GET YOUR PHONE BOOK AND LOOK UNDER SECURITY GUARD SERVICES OR YOU GET YOUR LOCAL NEWSPAPER AND LOOK IN THE CLASSIFIED ADS under the security or general employment listings and GET TO CALLING AND FIND OUT WHO'S HIRING.

I WOULD IMAGINE THAT YOU COULD FIND OUT WHO DOES THE HIRING IN THE VEGAS CASINOS --maybe human resources --and call them and find out if they have any security jobs open. They will want to know if you meet their requirements, and you tell them what you studied in the school.

Hopefully your school is registered with the agency that licenses security academies in Nevada.

I can't imagine anyone wanting to be in private security as I did my time in hell with all of the nepotism, paycheck skimming, lies, etc.
But if you want it, go for it!
