i thought copies of a credit report need to be authorized.  not only do these and other so called companies get    your credit report with some of your info,when they call they ask for you to give them your restricted info to help them with their con. becareful with trick questions like (is the the last 4 number of  your ssi 1234) to convince you that their claim is valid .   everybodies credit is not bad but scams can be found on some.  my husband credit was use to make ssveral purchases when he was gone to rehab and this same group of people convinced him that if he diidn't pay, he would lose his license and get in big trouble.  he actuall got so scared he sent them 500.00 before i found out.  we called the creditor that they claim to represent, and they told us he didn't owe them anything at that time.
