CAMCO Aka Capitol Acquisition And Management Company ripoff I WAS TREATED LIKE A COMMON CRIMINAL UNTIL THEY JUST DIDN'T MAKE ANY SENSE. Rockford Illinois

I received a letter from CAMCO that was postmarked January 29, 2004. After having a perfect credit rating for over 15 years, it was quite a shock to receive a notification that I owed $3100.00 from back in 1988 to Chase Bank.

I immediately called the number because I was sure this was a mistake that could be easily cleared up. After all, they didn't even have my last name spelled correctly.

After the phone rang for about 2 to 3 minutes, It was answered by a elderly gentleman (must have been someone's father helping out in a pinch) who asked for my claim number. I have to say, he was very pleasant. I gave him the number on the letter and it did not match anything in his records.

That is when he transfered me to Ms. Jones. Yes, Ms. Jones (she has a thing going on) that's for sure. She immediately attacked me with a prison guard attitude. After trying to explain that I never had a Chase credit card in my life she replied, "Yes you did. You ran this credit card to the max and then decided to forget it. Did you enjoy your purchases because they are going to ruin you now". She immediately started talking in circles. "This debt was bought out from this bank that transfered the loan to another bank and then that bank gave it to a collection agency, etc. etc.

It was ridiculous. She kept asking me if I had a good attorney because I would certainly need the best there was. I told her that I kept all my old records and would look into this credit card that I supposedly owed. She said she would give me two hours to do so or my credit would be destroyed.

So, being the responsible person I am, I did go get my records from the garage. I was glad I did, because I found some things I had been looking for for a long time (thanks, Ms. Jones for at least allowing me to find my precious pictures that I had been wondering where the heck I had placed them).

Anyway, I found my records and verified that I never had a credit card from Chase. I called her back and told her this. She said, "Sure you didn't. So in otherwords you are denying this debt. Are you denying this debt?" I said "say" and she could not possibly expect me to pay for a debt that is not documented. Ms. Jones said, "Now it's going to cost you a lot more money than before". I said, "Well, I'm not going to pay for something that I know does not exist". She said "GOODBYE" and "GOOD LUCK".

Then I looked up the company on the internet. What a SCAM. I do not understand why anyone would even bother to take the time and acknowledge these people by writing them a response. It is a clear case of scam.

They have probably kept many people, especially elderly people, up and walking the floors at night--unable to sleep, worrying. I wonder how many heart problems they have contributed to.

I believe in "what goes around, comes around". It may not be in this lifetime but it will catch up with them eventually.
