CAMCO - Capitol Acquisitions And Management Company Rip-Off In California - Rockford, Illinois

I am so glad that I have found Rip-Off Report, and all of the other people around the US who are having issues with sCAMCO. My name is Tiffany, and I am a 20 year-old trying to protect my 80 year-old grandfather Gordon. He was an FBI agent for 25 years, so he immediately smelled a scam when he was contacted by a Mr. Tony Russo regarding a debt of $1,929.96.

This man is trying to get my grandfather to settle, threatening court action if he does not. Yet the company has yet to send any proof of this debt when my grandfather has repeatedly asked for it. The only letter we have received from the company is vague at best, and asks for my grandfathers credit card information. During phone correspondence, the supposed date of this debt has changed three times. From "early 80's" to 1984 to 1987.

The local police have been paid a visit, and they have been very helpful in giving my computer illiterate grandfather information about CAMCO. I'm also trying to help as best as I can. When my grandfather last spoke to Mr. Russo, he mentioned all the information he has found about the company being dirty. For the first time ever, Mr. Russo became flustered and tried to transfer my grandfather to his manager.

I know there is already a ton of information here on this website (and the internet in general) about CAMCO, but I wanted to put in our story about this horrible company. There's also one thing that scares the daylights out of my grandparents and myself... During the first phone call, Mr. Russo read off my grandfather's social security number. The thought of any sort of identity theft is a truly frightening one!

Since mentioning the information that is readily available about CAMCO on the internet, Mr. Russo has not contacted us again. Hopefully they will not bother my grandparents anymore.
