This front sump Ford 351W road race pan fits in most front sump production chasssis except Mustang II, and Mavrick's and Comets which may require modification. It has an 8"
deep by 13-1/2" wide sump, with a 7 qt. system capacity. This pan
requires our 15-661 pickup. Will work with stock & aftermarket Starters.

The Pan Features:

      * Crank Scraper

      * Slosh Baffle

      * Provision For Our Pan Mounted Dipstick

      * Magnetic Drain Plug

Bought a Street/Road Race 7 quart pan for my Dart 427 powered 63 Falcon track car. First trip around the track, the slosh in the pan uncovered the oil pump pickup and ruined the bearings. The car had 30 break-in miles and 4 track miles after a $2,200 rebuild. Contacted Canton concerning the false advertising of the pan and was told that I am stupid - you cannot use their advertised road race pan for road racing. According to some nitwit, named Nick in the tech department the engine failed because it was built wrong and it could not be the pan. Another racer told me that the same type of pan ate his engine until he added an accumulator. Canton will not stand behind the advertising.

Response from Canton:

Now, since you are into researching and reading up on our terrible spelling (our old marketing guy did the website and hes no longer here, i'll have to fix the little thigs) you would have readthat there are no trap doors on the 15-660 pan.

There is no false advertising in our ad.  Anyone who road races should know that if you are going to be racing the car avidly, you need trap door baffles.

You cooked your engine because you bought a bare bones 351W front sump that states that it is a street pan that can be used for road racing and you treat it like it is a full out race pan.

The pan you currently have only has a slosh baffle and a crank scraper.  Being an avid racer like you are, you should know that you dont road race with a pan without trap doors.

This is not false advertisement, it is lack of research.
