As I, along with many other employees that worked a very short time at the Cape Coral Eye Center saw things that were going on that were extremely illegal. I am a Board Certified Licensed Optician that worked for the company approximately 6 weeks. The optical depts. at 5 different locations do not have licensed opticians working out of these locations. The illegal things that are going on: 

1.) Dispensing of eyewear by non-licensed opticians or not even ABO Certified, for dispensing.

2.) Fitting and measuring patients properly for their prescriptions. 

3.) 17 to 18 year olds coming in to the busiest office the (main clinic) and putting information into the computer to fit customers with glasses, filling the Rx. from the Drs. by placing the orders into the computers to be sent to the labs, measuring patients for bifocals, and at times progressives, not knowing which progressive lens designs to be best for the patients.

 4.) 17 to 18 year olds dispensing glasses to patients without properly fitting the patients, or as I said not licensed or ABO Certified, just handin the glasses to patients, and inserting the dispense into the computer saying that someone else dispensed them. 

5.) Not inspecting the glasses when they came in to their facilty, dispensing as is.

6.) 90% of the optical staff does not know how to even use the lensometer.

7.) Do not know how to measure pd's or to check glasses with possible induced prism in the glasses.

8.) Dr. Tyson for having pornography pictures in the medical practice. 

9.) Dr. Tyson also stated to me that he would rather hire non-licensed opticians than licensed opticians because they do not know how to sell, so with that comment its all about the profit not for the consumer. 

With all this said this practice is the worst I have ever seen and i could not stand it anymore. Something seriously needs to be done about this practice and I will testify in court if i have to and I will address any information I can to the media if I have to. This practice is all about the money not for the care of the patients. Its a mother son doing and the mother brags to everyone about her Bentley that she purchased because of the optical dept. What A Scam if I have seen one. They need to be investigated to the highest degree.
