Capital One has run my credit report, without any access aggrement or information, 30 times since the middle of 2006. They ran my report 2 and somtimes 3 times monthly, which cause my credit score to drop drastically. I have never applied for, or givin out any necassary information for them to run my report. I would love to know first of all, how they obtained my social security number etc. to run my credit report; but most importantly why they continued to run my report up to 3 times in 1 month when it was apparent that I had no interest in Capital One. Legal actions are in the process.

... and find out what kind of inquiries were made on your credit. Banks make what are called soft inquiries all the time, and the only person who can see soft inquiries on your credit reports is YOU (okay, and the wage slave who might prepare the report and stick it in the mail). The only inquiries that are factored into your credit score are hard inquiries, which are inquiries that are a result of you applying for credit and a bank or other entity doing a true credit check.

I have tons of soft inquiries from all kinds of credit card companies on all three of my reports, and they don't affect anything. Since I've seen it myself, that's what I'm guessing is happening with you. A bank doesn't have to have your permission to do a soft inquiry, so your legal battle is probably going to be fruitless. Check with Experian, Equifax and TransUnion and they'll tell you the same thing.
