The internet is great in many ways, but it's also injected a bit of the Wild West into certain types of commerce: there are truly bad people out there who have no compunction about flat-out lying on the vilest and most basic level, whereby they not only don't care if they rip you off, but that notion is in fact is the cornerstone of their entire operation.  Dave and Alexandra of Car Cheer (eBay name: Europa-Online) are precisely these people.

Similar to the poster above, I too was ripped off by Car Cheer when they maneuvered me to purchase a purported "pristine," "garage-kept" luxury vehicle outside of the protection of eBay, where I'd initially discovered the vehicle listed for sale. Long story short, the car that showed up in my driveway looked nothing like the photos I'd been presented with and the over-the-phone description Dave had given me. I was stuck with a seriously compromised vehicle that had been in a serious accident (hasty repairs evidently done in someone's backyard so as to avoid CarFax detection) and five months & an additional $8,000 later, I'm still cleaning up the mess.

Too bad that these folks spend more time trying to cover their online tracks than they do with selling issue-free cars.  Just have a peek at their nine reviews on Yelp--every single one negative--that have all been mysteriously relegated to the filtered page. What's truly amazing is that these crooks are successful in whitewashing every single one of their horrible reviews from the internet, and yet they seem to continue their operation with impunity from the law.

Any prospective eBay purchasers who are doing their due diligence by researching Europa-Online via the internet, please take heed and learn from my mistake: do not walk, but RUN from Dave and Alexandra

No mockery here... Just grateful.

I will not mock or call the original poster stupid. I thank you for reporting your bad experiences with Europa Online. I was just about to buy a BMW that I found on their eBay listings. It had the usual descriptions:garaged kept, highway miles, no rust, etc. AND YES, it looked stunning in the professional quality photographs. In fact, I noticed they use a lot of the same script on most of their eBay descriptions. You probably saved me $15,000 cash and lots of heartache. So thank you. YOU DID save another consumer from potentially experiencing the same nightmare you endured at the hands of Dave & Alexandra at Europa Online or Car Cheer. Thanks!

Don't put a lot of faith in CARFAX either.

AUTHOR: Inspector - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 07, 2012

I personaly know of several used car dealers that buy wrecked automobiles and piece and repair them themselves so the information never gets to CARFAX.  I know of one dealer that buys only wrecked cars that have no record on CARFAX.

Just be careful not to depend too much on them.

You admit to making a mistake in judgment so there is no reason for you to be subjected to any further criticism. I know to the inexperienced buyer it is not that hard to convince them to buy off ebay and they think this will save them money. But all it does is defraud ebay and give up all buyer protection. We are all human and make mistakes so hopefully your report will help prevent others from doing the same.

Ebay has no idea if a buyer is conducting transaction outside of ebay but used ebay to post an ad. If this seller is doing that they could be bad news but ebay would have no way to know since all the feedback scores are left by the members...but once you go outside you can not leave a feedback and it certainly does make it easier for a bad seller to conduct fraud.

As well it also helps conclude that no one should buy this way unless they know what they are doing. If I go to buy something and the seller tries to convince me to go outside of ebay..I do not care about their rating anymore..I smell a scam and fraud.

No Cheer

Ronny--

I can't argue that I made an error in judgment here, but saying that I'm just as guilty of fraud as Dave at Car Cheer (eBay: europa online ) is beyond crazy.  The only thing you can reasonably claim I'm guilty of is putting my trust in Car Cheer.  You yourself went to eBay and checked europa-online; you stated above that they appear kosher.  I came to exactly the same conclusion as you did after having spoken with them 4 times at length before making my decision.  Combined with the facts that the CarFax was sparkling and that europa-online has a 100% rating with 1800 transactions on eBay, I had no reason to believe that Dave was flat-out lying to me when he told me that the interior was in 9.5 out of 10 condition (there were 28 very carefully cropped & framed photos of the vehicle in question) or that this car was a safe, pampered, "pristine" low-miler that we could feel secure putting our 6-month-old daughter in.  I initially inquired about the car through the eBay system, and he replied with his phone number and told me to call him so we could better discuss it in detail; it wasn't so black & white that I emailed him an offer & he responded by saying "let's do the deal off of eBay."

If I were ever to buy a used car sight-unseen again, I'd definitely call around the area and locate a mechanic who I could pay to check it over for me.  Nonetheless, it's pretty odd how so many of you here are willing to absolve Car Cheer / europa-online of all moral, ethical, or legal wrongdoing simply because they're a used car dealer, and "that's the way used car dealers operate."  I'm not the type to post negative reviews online or wish anybody ill-will, but this guy is truly a bad egg.  I stressed to Dave that I wanted a safe, issue-free car for my wife & newborn, and he deceived me into paying good money for a car that had its deployed airbags stuffed back into the door & the door panels hot-glued back together (among many, many other things).  If there is an after-life, there's a cheap folding lawn chair and a nice tall glass of used, warm motor oil beside a fiery lake awaiting these people.

Or what if...

AUTHOR: Ronny g - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 06, 2012

...you decide upon your god given free will to make a high dollar purchase from an ebay auction..and then allow the seller to convince you to pay outside of ebay? Then unless you have no idea what you are doing you are just as guilty of fraud as the seller except bad news for you is you fortified any recourse via ebays protection program. That should be the jist of this report aside the fact that it is not wise to buy a used car or any car for that matter without inspecting it and test driving it first and especially if it is a used car have it inspected by a pro before committing to purchase.

Now for professional buyers, sellers and collectors it is a different story as we do not bid on anything unless we have some sort of buyer/seller protection INCLUDING using an approved escrow agency to hold all funds until the transaction is exceptable by both parties.

Let me ask you this, JIM IN ORLANDO...

AUTHOR: L Percipied - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, March 04, 2012

What if you were to find a pair of shoes or a shirt or a mattress on sale from a business via the internet, and after you've made the purchase, the item arrives at your doorstep with a large hole in it?  That would naturally be your fault, because following your logic, you've just bought a photo and nothing more.  Why didn't you have the item inspected prior to purchase?

How about this: a woman parks her car 2 blocks away from a restaurant one night, and she's assaulted walking back to her car alone.  Do you place the blame on the lowlife thug who committed the crime, or do you belittle the woman & tell her that she's gotten what see deserves for doing something that you deem to have been "dumb" by walking back to her car alone in the dark?

I'm still trying to get my head around just what would drive some of you to leave me heckling messages on here.  Dave and Alexandra's Car Cheer (eBay name: europa-online ) is a licensed business just as Macy's or Sears or 1-800-Mattress is.  A scam is a scam, whether it's been executed by a shoe retailer or a used car dealer, yet some of you seem to think that belly-crawling used car salesmen get to play by a different set of rules than everyone else.

Here's What's STUPID...

AUTHOR: Jim - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, March 04, 2012

You were defrauded because YOU volunteered to be defrauded by participating in this incredibly stupid nonsense of buying a USED car from a picture! Talk about DUMB! Everybody knows about the potential problems of buying a USED car to begin with. That's why SMART CONSUMERS use COMMON SENSE and check the car over in advance of purchase THEN have their own mechanic check out the car. There is NOTHING you can say to refute that. What you did is buy a picture. You never saw the car therefore you haven't a single clue as to what you spent your money on until the junk arrived at your door! The internet is full of scamsters who are looking for somebody who is ready, willing and able to throw common sense out the window just like you did. You can critcize me all you want only because you cannot refute the points made by me and others but one thing which I can say without hesitation is I would never, ever even remotely consider doing something as STUPID as buying any used car sight unseen! To do so is absolutely, incredibly industrial strength DUMB!

Are we living in a 3rd-world country?

AUTHOR: L Percipied - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, March 04, 2012

I find it a bit bemusing that so many of you are posting about how "stupid" I was and are essentially saying that I got what I deserved for trusting a licensed business that shipped me a vehicle that was completely different from how they represented it to me.  What is the point of this site?  It seems a bit odd that all the feedback thus far focuses on the idea that anyone who buys a bad car from a used car dealer is an idiot.  I was cheated by a licensed business, and I'm posting the experience to the internet.

To clarify, I did not drive this car off of the lot.  I purchased it from very far away, and was told by the seller--a licensed car dealer--that he could ship it to me for free if we can cut the deal off of eBay.  He kept pointing to his long-time, 100% eBay record, and when I pressed him on the phone for specifics about the car, he kept assuring me that the car was in 9.5/10 condition: "the CarFax tells the story on this one" were his exact words. No mention in the CarFax or from the seller about the airbags having been deployed & stuffed back inside the door panels, or about the alternator being dead, or about the headliner caving in, or about all of the ugly bodywork & undercarriage damage. This was represented as an issue-free, pampered vehicle with under 50,000 miles that I paid high book value for.

Considering that the CarFax showed the car to have been an extremely low-miler with zero issues combined with this seller's 100% feedback after 1800 transactions, I had no reason to believe that Dave at Car Cheer (eBay name: europa-online) was out-and-out lying to me.  Call me "stupid" all you want, but the bottom line is that I'm a consumer who was ripped off by a licensed business.

Thank you.

Dave from Car Cheer? Is this you...?

AUTHOR: L Percipied - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, March 04, 2012

As a consumer, I purchased a vehicle from a licensed car dealer with a 100% rating on eBay (1800 transactions) who presented me with an extremely low-mile vehicle and a CarFax report that had the highest rating that I'd come across for one of these cars.  By virtue of the fact that there are others on this very site who've had the exact same experience as I did with Car Cheer (Europa-Online on eBay) shows that this company's modus operandi is to pass off their bad cars on unsuspecting, trusting buyers by diverting them outside of eBay to complete the transaction.  I've arrived here at this site to warn other prospective clients about the type of business that Dave and Alexandra run at Car Cheer so that perhaps they'll think twice before dealing with them.  Simple.

Now you know my motivation for broadcasting my unfortunate experience on here.  I'm not quite sure what one's motivation might be, however, to sign on to ripoffreport.com and call posters like me "stupid" for shedding light on a fraudulent business.  I suppose that by Jim in Orlando's logic ANYONE who has been cheated is guilty of being "stupid" in one form or another and is thus deserving of a mocking such as the one he's seen fit to bestow upon me.

I hope I've been successful in exposing Car Cheer as an unethical, fraudulent company for having sold me a car that's been seriously compromised by two major accidents under the guise of being a "pristine," "garage-kept" vehicle with a spotless CarFax record.  Whether or not I've been successfully played for a chump is neither here nor there, and I may offer that it's not very kind of you to belittle me, either.

Something odd after investigation...

AUTHOR: Ronny g - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, March 04, 2012

Now granted if this seller advertised on ebay and then convinced you to conduct the transaction outside of ebay and you were gullible, stupid, or greedy enough to do this, then yes it would leave you with no recourse (depending on how you paid which if they were good scammers would be Western Union or similar)...but I looked up the stats on this seller and it seems they are kosher..at least if you use ebay...

And this is a prime example why..

AUTHOR: Ronny g - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, March 04, 2012

..no one should buy a car this way if they are clueless. And even worse you were suckered into doing this outside the protection of ebay. At least with their protection you would have stood a chance of recourse but even with that you have to beware as you could not only be responsible for return shipping if it was shipped, but could lose a dispute if you did anything that violates policy. Granted if the vehicle you purchased did not match the description or the pictures in the ad did not match the vehicle you would of had a 99.9% chance of recourse.

But then again we read here all the time how people pay for a car they purchased in PERSON from a dealership and drive off the lot and complain here that it was not as described and has all this damage. Well why would anyone take a vehicle off a lot if it was anything less then what they chose to buy? No one can realistically deny that car dealers are not often the biggest crooks and slickest salesman on Earth but at what point do you draw the line between a sale and a gun to your head? In other words unless there was a gun to your head or threat of physical violence the only one to blame for making a bad decision is the person who made the bad decision and the best way to combat this is to try to educate people how to make purchases and how not to make purchases. Lodging a report against this seller is about as useful as complaining about a bad grain of sand on the beach.

Are We Supposed To Feel Sorry For This STUPID Transaction?

AUTHOR: Jim - (USA)

POSTED: Saturday, March 03, 2012

You sent your money off to somebody you don't know to buy a USED car you've never seen, you've never taken on a test drive and you've never had your own mechanic check out. Do you actually expect a sane person with common sense to feel sorry for you? You can cry foul all you want but the bottom line is you swallowed their BS hook, line and sinker by throwing common sense out the window. Many years ago before the internet came to be, P. T. Barnum wrote about people like you..."A Sucker Is Born Every Minute".
