I am writing this letter for two reasons: 1) To dispute the charge GE Money Bank has against me. 2) To let you know the helplessness that I felt trying to deal with your “representatives”.

Firstly in March 2003 I was uninsured and had a toothache I went to a local dentist office, (sorry I cannot recall the exact location it being 10 YEARS AGO but it was in Pawtucket, RI), the dentist recommended I have all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed, since I was uninsured I was informed about Care Credit. I was approved that day for the full amount of the extractions but a few days later my teeth stopped hurting so I cancelled my appointment. I NEVER had my teeth pulled at that point and did not use my Care Credit acct. Although I did have my wisdom teeth pulled in July 2012 which I can get documentation of from a very helpful company called Aspen Dental.  Apparently I made my last payment December 2005, I cannot remember why I paid the bill (I did not incur) but I can assume it was to make a bill go away even though I never had my teeth pulled. Thru the years I had received letters from GE, which I did not understand not knowing GE and Care Credit where one in the same. Around 2007 I remember looking thru my account/debt and coming across a bill and calling someone and informing someone that it was not a proper debt and they said they would make a note blah, blah, blah forgive my lack of recollection but it’s been years. Now since then I haven’t received any noticed so I assumed the matter was resolved until October 28, 2013 I received a notice from Northland Group Inc. informing me I have a balance of $5711.61. I called the number given then I followed the instructions to send a written dispute which I have done.

Which brings me to second purpose of this letter; I called your Care Credit “Customer Service” number (1-866-893-7864) I was put on hold for (the first time) for 7 minutes because of “high call volume” then spoke with a Jane and once I verified my information she told me she was unable to see activity on my account because they/she isn’t given that access, Jane transferred me to another department that could see my account. Before transferring me she asked if she could help me any further and transferred my call. Once transferred I was on hold for 2 minutes before being disconnected. So I had to start the process all over again; this time waiting 9 minutes and connecting with Mike, I briefed him on the situation (which he apologized for the disconnect) and he transferred me but also gave me the number (1-800-552-5239) just in case I was disconnected again. This number was Capital Retail Bank and didn’t have many options to choose from but when I chose the appropriate one all it kept doing was repeating the statement “all claims are to be submitted in writing to …. Fort Wayne Texas”.

Well that was not satisfactory to me I wanted to speak to a HUMANBEING about my account not write a letter and then sit (im)patiently by the telephone. So on the third round of calling I waited 7 minutes and spoke to Alex whom seemed annoyed by me and my story and demanded the number I previously called; she informed me that Mike had sent me to the wrong department (he may have but at least he was polite about it unlike Alex). Alex transferred me also giving me the number (1-800-213-5077) not so patiently I waited 5 minutes to speak to Kristy (or Christy). Kristy was the icing on the cake of my day! I relayed the story and when I dodgy on the details because it was 10 years ago she said “you didn’t get one letter in ten years”, I told her “I had but didn’t understand them and make the connection because the letter was from GE.” Kristy “I’m sure there was a number on the letter you could have called in ten years.” I admitted to her in my younger years I didn’t not always make the smartest decisions (as most of us in our 20’s) and I’ve learned from my mistakes. Next she said “you need to write a letter and fax it to 1-800-352-7542.” I said “I just want to know what you have on my record that says what I had done.” She said “I can’t tell you, when I type in your social security number nothing comes up.” Since nothing comes up why do I have a debt? I ask if she could transfer me to somebody who could tell me she said no. I said “so I have to write a letter and hope that someone will respond to me.” Kristy: “no you don’t ‘have to hope someone will respond’ that’s their job they will.” Me: “then can you just transfer me to them so I can talk to them?” Kristy: “no they don’t take calls.” At this point I was at the end of my rope. Me: “I find it’s stupid you have an entire department that doesn’t take calls.” To which she reminded me to write a letter and fax it to them. I asked if there was a supervisor I could speak to she said no. So I informed her that I would be writing a letter and faxing it in then I would be sending the very same letter to The Better Business Bureau, in return Kristy condescendingly said “that is your right.” And then I thanked her for telling me that was my right and I hoped she would have as good of a day as I had dealing with her people and hung up.

Why exactly??

AUTHOR: Tyg - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, November 06, 2013

Why exactly are you fighting with them over the waiting involved?? Its just sheer stupidirty to think you will get your way. Yes they have a whole dept that DOESNT take calls. Why you may ask?? Because of ppl like you. Youre going to talk with them and lay your sob story on them and expect them to cancel a over $5000.00 debt? It just doesnt work that way.

There are processes involved in resolving your situation. You are attempting to hold ppl who have NO CONTROL over your debt or account responsable and you are demanding that they put thier jobs at risk and just take your word that what you say is true. STOP BASHING THE HELP YOU TWIT!! They have told you HOW to do what you need to do. They CAN NOT just forgive this. Its been too many years. YOU had the opportunity to get this resolved EVERY YEAR since the debt was initially incured. Dont go acting like a jackass because NOW when you are handleing the situation they wont just buy your BS and give you your way. Given the length of time involved you will probably have to prove that you DID NOT use the money. Its also HIGHLY likely that the dentist you went to at that time performed some nasty insurance fraud in your name.

First, be patient, these ppl have to deal with issues like this all the time. YOU and YOUR attitude of self entitlment DO NOTHING to help the situation. This is YOUR issue that YOU never cleared up. Have some patience in this situation, it wont be resolved with a phone call. And for the love of everything good on our mud ball, STOP ABUSING THE HELP!!!!!! You go to show us you are nothing more then a bully because the ppl at the call center can not resolve a $5000 issue that YOU have. They are just ppl who had to take a job like that because its all they could get. We all can tell that you think yourself above others in this life, but if you want to get this resolved, you will have to HUMBLE yourself a bit and get off that high horse.

Perhaps YOU need to work a shitty job were all you get to deal with is abuse and nasty ppl. Maybe then your behavour will be better.
