.....on the verge of homelessness. I, too(-like other reporters I've read on this site-), was basically coerced into enrolling in a school or my children would be taken away from me. They(social workers) came with me to sign up at the school, then I was ushered off to classes where they had brought me various pages to sign "as required for enrollment", several times interrupting my lessons. {No doubt, this must have been their method of distraction so you do not have time to read the documents you are signing}.

I only became aware that I had loans to repay much later. I did not even graduate this college as I had become homeless and had to move back in with mother on the coast. I just could not go back. And I had really enjoyed my computer programming class!

My family and I were harassed by the Dept of Ed constantly! I just ignored any notices I had received because I felt this was not something I chose...the loan. I had no knowledge of the finance arena!! And that school knew it. THEY RUINED MY LIFE!...by ruining my credit.

I had enrolled in a local community college in my area in 1999/2000 and I began paying my defaulted loans...every month....forever, it feels like. They had various programs that helped alot with the interest. And that's another thing! I think the original principal was something like $2300. But, because of my ignorance at that time (apr was 1.3% !!), accrued interest by the time I was even able to brgin making payments had brought the balance up to $7000+ !! This is just disgusting. At the time of writing this report, my balance is down to approximately $4000. Still too much!!!

I've been enrolled in college 3 separate times since then and I have NEVER been able to receive Financial Aid. I paid for mostly all my textbooks, all the gas, supplies, everything. I have just recently re-entered the college I am loyal to under the same 'major' as the CareerCom College of years ago because the programming I was learning then no longer exists. Just before I signrd up for classes, I discovered that my repayment plan had changed to an Income-Based payment plan and I have a monthly amount of $0.00 this year up until September. That helps a tiny bit, but I still do not have any textbooks yet. I have zero contribution from family/friends. I am lucky BOG covered the cost of classes--books total $349!!!!

SOoooo.....CareerCom College (and that horrible Social Service System Worker) are still ruining me. My current reprieve with DOE (Navient is the servicer) will not reduce my principal. And I just think this is wrong!! I think it's totally unfair that the State Systems can get away with ripping of the Federal Government while allowing Patsy Q Citizen to take the fall.....forever!  And ever! It's been 28 years! I'm gonna be 100 yrs old by the time I can graduate! IF I can continue. This is just ridiculous!

So, I have been trying to locate ALL the records that this school had in my name, especially my transcripts. But I would also be intrested to see the 'Prommissory Note' and my enrollment forms. (Although I am certain those records have been destroyed.)

There doesn't seem to be a "Form" that I fall in the category of to get (some kind of) Forgiveness. Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! And, prolly, too there's gonna be some sort of statute of limitations that will exclude my particular account from relief.

Real Sad situation I've been in for the rest of my life, caused by these greedy Institutions!!! Thank You Very Much. So enriched now, I am.

Thanx for allowing me to ramble and rant, Rip-Off-Report. I feel a little better. I'm sure this situation is similar to many. (I seem to be having a tough time locating many references to this college online--they're almost obslete-ly invisible!
