I do not recommend the food at this Carmike theater in Findlay, Ohio.
Its way overpriced.
$5.50 for a small drink and up for larger drinks.
Popcorn can range from $5 on up to $8 to $10 dollars.
They only have pennies invested in the stuff, lids, paper cups, popcorn and oil are cheap bought in bulk as they do.
Fountain pop is very cheap to produce at only pennies per glass.
Why spend $25 on up for movie ticket, drink and popcorn??
The candy in the boxes is $4.25. Walmart sells theres for 79 cents to 1.00 for the identical candy in the theater size boxes.
The white castle hamburgers are way overpriced too.
You can go get a meal at a decent restaraunt cheaper than eating popcorn and candy at this theater.
I advise to just eat before you go see a movie there or else take your own food. They do not have any signs prohibiting people taking their own food in.
Don't waste your money on their overpriced food.
This is only my personal opinion but you be the judge and check out the prices on the food there at the theater.

Theatres absolutely can, and do, bar people from bringing in outside food and drinks. Every theatre where I live has signed posted that outside food and drink are prohibited. Legally they CAN bar you from bringing in your own food and drink. Any business can bar you from bringing in outside food and drinks. Any buisness has the right to refuse service for any reason. In this case, if you bring in outside food and refuse to take it back to your car they can just make you leave the theatre. You have no right to see movies. You have no right to bring in outside food and drinks. You have no right to cheap popcorn and soda.

Lawsuit?

" I believe there is a possible class action suit being brought up against movie theaters on their overpriced drinks and food."
Class action lawsuit for what? Companies can charge whatever they like for goods and services. As a consumer you have the right to either purchase them or not purchase them. Price gouging laws exist to protect customers from being gouged during emergencies. Ie: A hurricane hits and a gas station jumps their price 2$ a gallon the next day. That's price gouging.
A movie theater that ALWAYS charges that price is not price gouging. What these theatres do is perfectly legal. So, let us know how your class action lawsuit goes.

Yes I have been to movies at theaters recently. And I do realize they all overcharge for food.
I believe there is a possible class action suit being brought up against movie theaters on their overpriced drinks and food.
I never buy food or drinks at any movie theater.
I cannot believe people actually pay those prices for food.
If they went to a restaraunt and paid the same price scale for food there they would pay 25 to 80 dollars for a hamburger or sandwich meal with a drink and fries.
they should not gouge people at the theaters for food and drinks.
best thing to do is just eat before you go or stop at walmart and get some pouch style drinks and the theater style candy in boxes they sell for lots less than the theaters do and take to the movie with you.
there are no signs at the theater here that prohibit anyone from taking in their own food or drink. And I do not think they can stop anyone from doing so as there are no laws that I know of pertaining to a person taking their own food or drink into a theater unless posted such on the walls at the theater.

Movie theatres

Have you been to ANY movie theatres in the last 30 years? This is typical pricing in the industry. Here locally its 18$ for popcorn and 2 drinks in a combo. At the other theater it runs 10$ for popcorn and a drink and you have to buy the second. If you are going to file a ripoff report, it shuold be on the whole industry. Not just this theatre. They ALL charge these prices.
Additionally, no one makes you buy sodas and popcorn at the movies. You can always rent a movie and go buy popcorn at walmart if you don't like the prices.
