We came to Carz Planet in July 2013 to look at a minivan. We were asking the salesman basic questions like "how many owners", "has it ever been in an accident", etc.. The salesman told us it had NEVER been in an accident. We decided to purchase the vehicle. Approximately 1 1/2 months later we tried to trade in the van at a different dealership for a better model only to find out our van had been in an accident. The dealership told us the accident on the Carfax affects the trade in value of the van. Thinking it might just be that dealership we consulted other dealerships and even a private appraisal firm. All of them confirmed that an accident reported on the carfax decreases the value of the trade. We contacted Carz planet and they said they would work with us, except for 4+ months we were lied to and nothing ever happened. They wouldn't take our calls, they wouldn't call us back, they belittled us, and continually lied to us.

They use carfax, they are trying to claim they showed us one. Tough s***? No when people treat you bad and practice poor sales ethics its ok to file complaints.  And when i loose $2300 because a company chooses to lie then its acceptable to seek reimbursement.

Carfax is NOT a free service. You have to PAY to use it. If that dealership doesnt use carfax then they wouldnt know if it was in an accident. They would only have the information that the previous owner would have given them. The information they gave you would be CORRECT to the best of their ability to know so. Sounds to me that youre fishing around for something free more then you want to inform the general public of your experiences. Accept the fact that no body is perfect and move on. And not to be too much of a jerk but when was it that you attained ABSOLUTE PERFECTION???

s**t happens. You purchased a USED vehicle and you purchased it AS IS. Obviously the damages to the minivan were not so severe as to interupt its ability to transport you. Your complaint is that they didnt tell you it was in an accident. As I stated Carfax is not free and if they didnt pull a report up on it then the information they gave you was correct as far as they knew. Yes it sucks thatthey didnt pull up a report, but YOU would have expected them to pay for it. With the economy as it is, they are not going to just pull up a report on every vehicle on their lot just to satisfy you. It costs money and you would be too cheap to pay for it so why hold them to a higher standard then you yourself would live up to.

Im not saying its right, im just saying youre being a bit too hard on a company that is doing business legally. If you DID NOT request a Carfax report, then YOU are just as guilty as they are for not doing your part to protect yourself. To turn around and later bash them after you yourself did nothing to protect yourself is a bit of sour grapes on your part.
