I was unfortunate enough to have been selected by these creeps in much the same way. Received a letter stating they had purchased a debt...blah blah blah. I sent them a letter of demand requesting debt validation.
I dealt with Midland Credit Management 3 months ago and their attempts stopped after I sent the certified/registered letter. Now I am showing up on another slimball's mailing list.
Get your letter of demand out to them immediately. Don't sign it and dont provide ANY personal information (SS#, DOB, etc.) Close your letter by stating that they have 30 days to respond, or they must ceast and desist.
