CD EARTH, LLC Ripp off company, hacked into my paypal account, and took money from me which was unauthorised. The free CD they sent me was actually a ploy to join their "Club". Internet, Texas

I was looking for some software for the Office, and CD earth advertised themselves as offering free CDs, with only postage to pay for. They also asked you to tick other boxes for free CDs that you might want as well. Initial debit was via paypal for a small amount for postage costs. Got the CD, and it didn't even work! Software not compatible, so appeared as a blank CD. I have XP windows, which should be compatible with most comp ware.

Then received additional CDs which I thought were free. Then yesterday I suddenly discovered that my paypal was debited again without my knowledge for the 2 CDs they sent me- about $30. I panicked as it looked like my Paypal account had been hacked into without prior permission. I immediately wrote to CD Earth to complain and also started a dispute with Paypal for unauthorised debit. CD Earth wrote a very polite sweet letter, saying that I had joined their club, and if I did not return the CDs they sent me in 25 days, they would charge me for them.

They said that I had ticked a box to agree to their terms and conditions. This I had no knowledge off. My main grype is that I thought my paypal account could only be accessed by me not anyone else. And Paypal did resolve the issue with a refund but said the debit was authorised by me!!! What a rip off and a scam. Keep away from this company, they should be stopped. Their software is useless anyway, and of NO worth. They are just after your money, and will not refund you. The only reason I did get a refund was because I paid via paypal..
