I already saw some things off about CEI Hair Schools, LLC (used to be called Cutting Edge Barber, also Beauty Institute) like how the class times changed from what I was sent in my email at first, how I stopped hearing from Tiffany Gatling, and how they didn't take Fafsa etc. But knowing that it was apart of my dream to get my cosmetology license, how I had a child on the way, how I was unemployed for almost 3 months, my boyfriend didn't have that great of a job, and being a bit broke, I felt truly blessed when Deedria Clark had a scholarship deal going on. I made sure I told Deedria some things I was going through but I would not let it all stop me from getting my license. Deedria told me that I could maybe be a shampoo person for her salon, all of that changed after a student told me they had money issues with her as her shampoo person.

I felt the need to warn others about the school, especially since I see that Cynthia Ann Washington (used to work for CEI hair schools, LLC) had similar issues with the school from what I've seen with her post on RipOffReport.com, here is the link: ripoffreport.com/reports/cei-hair-school-llc/atlanta-georgia-30303/cei-hair-school-llc-deeidria-clarktiffany-last-name-unknown-will-not-pay-me-my-paychec-1261982 The original flyer I was sent on May 28th, 2017, through email from the ORIGINAL OWNER Tiffany Gatling said that you had to pay $300 up front for the registration fee AND kit in order to get free tuition. When I called the school, talked with one of the teachers, she told me it was actually $350 from the flyer she had saw.

When I finally went to register for the school, 2 weeks before the start date, I met with Deedria, the price changed back to $300. She told me she do these scholarships all the time to help people out. I asked her about the kit list over and over, she told me if I have basic items like flat irons, blow dryer, etc. I should be okay, I believed her. On June 12th, my first day of school, she gave me a long kit list. I really didn't understand it because I asked her about the kit list back then while registering. I went through little goofy issues like missing hours for one of the Saturdays I came to school, I made sure I went to school that day because I looked back at my messages etc.

On July 19th, Deedria called me to her office to tell me I couldn't wear my smock like Apron because it wasn't the right smock. I didn't understand it when she been letting me wear it since the second week of school and so many other students been wearing it, even one of the students that had been there longer than me, I faithfully saw her wearing it. She told me not to come back til I have the right smock. I told her I wouldn't have money for it until Friday. Friday came and things didn't go as planned, I let her know exactly what happened, she told me that I would lose my scholarship because of my attendance.

I remember giving her $25 for a mannequin the week before. 2 weeks later, after missing a whole week of school because she told me NOT to come back to school until I have the right smock, she told me she couldn't find my mannequin and that I wasn't at school the day she was passing it out, she just gave me my money back. Graduation time came for the students that had been there for a while, Deedria had a after graduation event going on. Deedria told all of the students and teachers that they HAD to attend to the event. She said she needed model’s, host's etc. She also told us we will receive 40 extra credit points for attending. Deedria was selling CEI Hair School shirts, said that anyone attending from the school HAD to wear them, but anyone who is a host, model etc. don't have to pay for it.

July 26th, I went to the school to be interviewed for being a model, after a while Deedria came and asked me if she received my $20 for the shirt, and I told her exactly what she told all of us the other day, she didn't say anything back. The next day after reaching out to her and asking if I really had to pay for the shirt, she told me no because I would be modeling. When I arrived to the event, a couple of models I was talking to were asking where were my modeling shoes, I was very confused. They had told me they received a random text from someone telling them to bring their own modeling shoes, I double checked my messages, never received anything….so I had to borrow someone's extra pair, forced my foot in them lol that's life. The owner of YB Limited told me that I had to do my own makeup, all the models did, then he asked me, I thought y'all learned that in school? I found it funny because we never did or discussed about learning it in school like we should have been doing. Lucky there were a lot of ppl there that was great with makeup.

I was supposed to model for YB Limited but they didn't have anything left for me to wear so I had to model for Creationz From a Dove. Deedria then texted me and told me the only way to receive extra credit is to stay till the end of the event which was a event that was about 7 hours with NO refreshments. The refreshments were finally put out, at the end of the event, and weren't free. Yes I was bothered by that…. Around the beginning of August is when I was terminated from the school. Deedria heard me talking with another student about the issues I was having with school and the job I had just got. Deedria called me into her office, she constantly asked if I was happy here, I kept saying yes, then she decided to tell me she doesn't think I'm happy at the school and she will send me to another school. Didn't understand what she meant by "sending” me to another school. She told me she was getting text messages from one of the teachers about hearing my conversation (silly right?)

Deedria also told me she is terminating me because of my attitude and my attendance, she LIED and said I missed 70% of school. She gave me most of my documents, said she had more for me, also my hours I had completed. She told me she will just have to mail it off to me because her computer started acting up. I did take a picture of my hours back then but I'm pretty sure that's not enough proof for the next school I go to. After I sat and let her finish printing out my documents, I stopped arguing with her after a while and just started being quiet, she told me I was banned from the school and that someone had to escort me out, which was some random guy I had saw at the event. Every time I called her about the rest of my documents, she will tel me she was busy and will call me back. As the days go by I continued calling and texting her asking if she could just email them instead because mailing them off will probably take too long. Here it is May 26, 2018, I'm still receiving excuses from her and haven't received the rest of my documents.
