This company mislead me, and did not stand behind their employees mistake which, of course, cost ME both time and money.... A new "Alltel" store opened across from my shop, which pleased me, as I was due for an upgrade. The first thing I asked upon walking in the store one Saturday afternoon was; " Are you an official Alltel store?". The clerk replied; "Yes". So I commenced shopping for a new phone. She was very nice and helpful and I decided on a new Glimmer. I also purchased an accessory package containing a clear case, 1gb of memory and a mobile charger for traveling.

Two weeks later, while traveling in Colorado, I discovered that she had sold me the wrong charger and my phone was going dead. I managed to locate a corporate Alltel store and was informed that they could not perform the exchange for me due to the fact that I had purchased it from an independent retailer! I proceeded to purchase the correct charger for ANOTHER $30.00. Several days after my return to Florida I attempted to return the incorrect charger to no avail...the clerk was new and offered me more accessories, which I did not need. I agreed to return to see a manager, who, after much negotiating, agreed to refund the $30.00 minus a 're-stocking' fee of $5.00 (because I had discarded the packaging) via company check by mail within two weeks. After all of this I have finally received a check for $17.11!! This is an outright INSULT as it was their clerk that sold me the wrong accessory to begin with. PLEASE make sure that you are dealing directly with a CORPORATE ALLTEL store. I have been with Alltel for years and have never had a bad experience.... obviously their criteria for 'Retail Sales Partner' needs to be way more stringent!

Read the sign again

AUTHOR: Blake - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, March 01, 2009

On a side note .. if everyone would stop and read the signs ... I am pretty sure that the sign said "Alltel" and then just below it, it also said "Authorized Dealer" or something to that fact.

Also, you didn't notice this 2 weeks ago when you purchased the equipment? Most companies has a return policy of a couple days.

Common sense tells people since there are mistakes to be made, when you purchase something new, it is in your best interest to test and try everything out right away, especially before you go on a 2000 mile vacation away from home.

Common Sense people.

No Such Thing as Fake Alltel Store

AUTHOR: Cellular Air - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, November 14, 2008

Every Cellular Carrier has direct retail locations and indirect locations such as Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Circuit City, etc. The retailer you complained about is 1 or 4 National Retailers authorized to sell Alltel products and services. We have been providing these services for over 13 years throughout the Southeast. You asked a simple question, "Are you an offical Alltel location", and our employee provided an honest anwser to your question by stating yes! Alltel would litigate, as would any other carrier, quickly for trade mark infringement. Alltel's direct and indirect locations all provide the exact same rate plans and handsets with the same warranty. The only difference is our accessories, for which we provide a life time warranty and are for the majority of accessories, much less expensive.

Many retailers, not just Cellular Air, will not even provide a refund if the product is not defective or damaged. Many customers will try and even repackage the old accessory and come back to try and get a refund, or they may find something at a discount store, and the customer agian may want a refund not understanding that product most likely will cause damage to their handset due to it not beiny OEM or approved by handset manufacture.

Our compay would be glad to have Alltel honor the accessory product at all of their stores, but we do operate as a separate profit center. The upside to the customer is a more convenient place to shop with cost savings for gas, and an accessory warranty un-matched for the industry. So, while your shopping experience may have not been the best experience, we have 1000's of other customers who love our products and services.

I encourage you not to judge a sales experience based upon one shopping experience.

Seriously?!?

SERIOUSLY!!! If TIME and MONEY is so important to you then I can't believe that you actually took the time to write a report about someone who obviously made an honest mistake by giving you the wrong car charger. People make mistakes as I'm sure you do too!! I would also like to add that as you mentioned you had great customer service and the employee was very helpful. Something you don't find very often in the world we live in today. The person selling you the wrong car charger on ACCIDENT does not make the company a bad company, and the fact that they have rules and policies just like every other company does not make them a bad company either. Just remember when you walk into an "Alltel" store whether it is directly owned by Alltel or another company, the sign outside says Alltel for a reason! This means that it is an Alltel store and that Alltel products are sold there and are no different no matter where you go!

Why Blame Alltel?

AUTHOR: Bikebryan - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, September 03, 2008

Your problem had nothing to do with Alltel. It had to do with an independent agent who is not employed by Alltel. Yet you issue the complaint against Alltel?

Do you see the problem here? Your complaint is misplaced.
