Bought centex house in july 07.
1. Paid more for upgraded carpet padding. The padding is full of rocks. My family, including my toddler granddaughter have repeatedly injured our feet.
Dustin from warranty office says Centex will not remove the hundreds of stones, nor will they replace the carpet or padding. (The definition of "padding" is something that cushions, by the way. It has nothing to do with stones causing injury.)
As a "courtesy" centex will lift up one edge and remove one stone!!!!! Not for evidence of the problem, but just so that they can say that they have "addressed" the problem!
2. Shower seal has fallen out again.
3. tile is so badly lain that when I put a carpenter level on the floor, the level can be spun around in circles!
4. The dishwasher was not fastened down under the counter. Christmas eve the thing fell forward, nearly broke my spose's arm.
5. Some of the screws used to mount the cabinets to the walls were broken off during installation. The cabinet doors squeak and slam ad hang lopsided.
6. Many of the hinge screws for the room doors are missing.
7. Found some of them screwed into cabinets
8. Foundation bending in center of the house.
9. Concrete used in retaining wall in back yard of such poor quality it is being washed away a little more with each rain. Many of the rocks have fallen out.
10. Lower kitchen cabinets are coming off the wall.
11. Floor squeaks throughout second level.
12. Floor buckling.
13. Nonstop extremely loud music from Centex workerstrucks that block the streets, and from all the building sites. It is not possible to remain there. (Remember that incessant loud music is a common method of torturing POW's. It should not be used for that purpose, it should definitely not be used to torture the small children who live in the neighborhood. They can not sleep. They can not do homework. It is doing damage. It is torture.)
14. I have been told that if I pay the workmen $100 per room the music will stop!
15. I was referred to a "Robert" in the Lost Creek sales office. I told him my name and my address. He responded that he could not verify that I lived there and so "There is absolutely no way that there could be a problem!!!"
