Century Communities Lincoln Park At Ridge Gate Denver Stealing our Earnest Money Denver , Colorado

We just relocated to Colorado decided to buy a home. We bought from Century Communities their Lincoln Park at Ridge Gate. We purchased in April 2010. The builder told us we needed to place down $15,000.00 earnest and we needed to pay for options of $15,000.00 total money down $30,000.00. We were doing an investment loan with our friend and did not qualify for the loan. Furthermore the appraisal came in less than the sales price of $495,844.00. Hence they should be returning our monies. The corrupt and deceitful builder will not give our monies back because they say we waived our rights in their contract. Not knowing the difference between the State of Colorado Real Estate Contracts ( the only legal contract) and the notorious builder contracts we have been scammed!!

Century Communities does not do business ethically and or morally. They are only after the money; even there sales offices state this is happened before where the company retains the monies. Well we did not get a loan so we had credit denial, the appraisal did not come in where it should and they refuse to do business ethically. It was ironic that the Vice President upon her receipt of the appraisal actually called the lender violating the law to have the appraiser changer his appraisal to meet the sales price. It would be one thing if they only took $3,000.00 but $30,000.00, this is not only disgusting but repulsive to think that in a housing market of today they would out right steal. Just to show you what type of builders these guys are they wanted to have us use their design center for upgrades, get this for 90 square feet of stone tile in a shower they wanted to charge us $18,045.00 are you kidding!!!!

We had the shower bid by three tile companies and not one came in higher than $2,500.00. The hardwood flooring for 1079 square feet they wanted nearly $28,000.00, Carpet Exchange bid the job with labor for $6,200.00. This builder has not only wants to steal your money but they also want to rip you off!!!!. Since we have used nearly all of our monies to buy this home our only recourse is through our attorney who is researching the violations in the Builder Contract and we are also launching a public forum. We have contacted all the major networks, radio station and media and they are going to begin to look into the company's business practices. Please do not buy another home in any of their communities; you will lose your money. If this has happened to you by Century Communities please contact us.
