Century link agreed to one price for a service, but is taking MORE than that amount from my bank account.

On 9-22-2015 my daughter, I, and Criss at Centruy Link had a conferrence call to add Direct TV to her already existing Centurylink internet service.  She had called them more than once for information about services and costs; on this call Criss repeated that the TOTAL monthly cost would be $79. But the payments they took out of my Visa account were this:

$48.66 Nov 13

$116.18 Dec 12

$116.18 Jan 15

My daughter has (and had) the account with Century Link for her internet connection in Kuna, Idaho.  I added direct TV with this transaction, and I was added to account as an "authorizxed user", and agreed to pay her bills via direct payment from my Visa account.

Criss also had me pay (via ANOTHER Visa account) $319.95 TO Direct TV, for their equipment. He said that "deposit" would be repaid to me, by subtracting $5 a month from the monthy bill.

Criss also stated that the term of the contract was one year, and that when that expired "a comperable deal would be offered". He said this conferrence call would be recorded.

I expected my daughter or I to recieve an actual contract, but daughter says all she has recieved is a "Thank you" letter from direct TV (which does not mention billing or any agreement).

My daughter says she DOES recieve montly statements from Century Link, but never paid attention to the amounts; I was not aware of the overcharge untill Dec. I have started a "stop payment" via my bank, but I don't know if their "investigation" will accomplish anything.  And in any case, I don't want to leave my daughter without service; Kuna is a TINY town and she is disabled - she doesn't have other good options!

I have tried to "fix" this by calling:

I called Direct TV -- they said call Century link.

I called Century Link:

Dec 17, 2015 "RICK" said there was no record of any changes to her Centurylink internet account (no bundling with DirectTV), nor was there a record of the $319.95 paid to Direct TV (paid via that first phone call to Century link).

Dec 17 called back and talked to "Edsel"; he said there IS a record of everything. EXCEPT there is no record of my PHONE AGREEMENT of $79 payments. He stated the amount of money I am being billed IS CORRECT; that $5 refund form the Direct TV deposit WAS being taken out of the billing, for a total cost to me of $116.18.

"Edsel" had no explaination of the original cost quote.

My daughter also called Century Link (unknown date and person talked to).  Regarding the apparent "bait & switch", she said "Oh, that happens all the time"
