So last year I paid my maintance fees for my one bedroom 1 week every other year time share property. I admit, we paid them late (May 08) they were due in January 2008. The day after I mailed them I received a bill from Pinnacle Collections. I contacted Pinnacle to tell them I paid Westgate. I thought Westgate would not cash the check, and refer me to Pinnacle. They did cash the check. I than never heard from Pinnacle or Westgate until now.


On Friday 10/2/09 I recieved my maintenance and tax balance (bill) from CFI. It stated my property taxes due on 1/1/2010, along with a past due balance of $228. I immediately called CFI, demanding to know what this was from. They stated that they paid Pinnacle a collection fee out of my check I wrote Westgate for Timeshare Maintenance fees. Why did they cash a check, when it had gone to collections? I thought you were susposed to deal with the collection agency.  I have never received a bill for this in a year and a half. I had no idea they were charging late fees and interest. They say they have been calling me. This is a flat out lie. I have NEVER received a call or letter from them. I have voicemail. NO voicemails. Isn't it convenient that they are letting this lie while it is racking up interest charges. They say there is nothing they can do. I asked them to prove they have been contacting me. The representative, Brian Green said "Prove we haven't called".


I am furious with Westgate. They are not even trying to work with me. I have been online and seen all the complaints against them. I feel they are bullies. They have no right to cash a check after it had gone to collections and than pin the collection fee on me. I paid them $564, they gave me credit for 442. I demand to know why this happened and how they can get away without sending a bill in all this time, and just put it on next years bill.

Westgate does not bill? They conveniently add interest you don't know you are being charged?

Because I already added late fees to the check, I thought the obligation was fufilled. When Westgate never calls in a year and half to say I owe money, isn't it convenient they are adding interest, but not trying to collect on money. I don't know about you, but if I owe someone money there is usually a bill. Because Westgate has never called or mailed anything, how am I to know I owe money? They also did this to me in 2006, and I paid on time. They called the following fall of 2007 and roped me for over $100.  I also am waiting for a call from the manager of Westgate. I haven't heard anything. He was susposed to call on Wednesday. I think it is ultra convenient they have not called considering they are charging me $2 a day interest. They need a full clean out of staff if you ask me. Considering everyone I have ever talked to there has been imcompotent.

I see lots of complaints about Westgate very similar to this one. How is Westgate a bully for charging late fees on something you admit to not paying on time. I have always paid my fees on time and have never had any problems. If you do not pay your taxes on your home they as well will charge late fees.....and they will onlymail you 1 notice. It is your responsibility to pay your fees, on time. Dont bash a company for your own mistake.
