POTENTIAL CLIENTS BEWARE:

  • Once you are an official, paid client, they pretend to leave a message for someone else, spoofs the inbound number and uses an answering service (or that's what the person answering claims) as a callback. These messages are typically designed to lure you into giving them more money.
  • Contacted some of his "testimonials" and they all said they were offered free pubicity services in exchange for providing testimonials. I asked them if they got any good results, and two of them said they hired multiple PR/marketing firms at the same time and as such, they don't know which firm produced the desirable results they recieved.
  • Their website is as of today, and has been for the past 3 years, looking like a 3rd grader designed it.
  • His client agreement clearly states the contract only has legal validity in the courts of the state of Illinois; probably because he knows that 99 percent of his victims won't fly all the way there to recover only $600.
  • He has changed business addresses every two-three years and will probably continue to do so.
  • Provides fake references through free public email accounts (ie. gmail, yahoo, hotmail, etc) which he creates and responds to himself.
  • They operate like a major PR firm but it is really a 1-man scam artist who occassionally hires unsuspecting interns as foot solders to do his dirty work.
  • He leaves you hanging and apparently doesn't care about making real connections or establishing quality customer relationships. The "publicity" clients they supposedly represent are demanding answers for failure to uphold agreements.
  • Please help me retrieve the $14,000+ this con-man stole from me by adding to this thread and filing a report with SEC, FTC, IC3, and the FBI.

THANKS AND GOD BLESS.  I REALLY HOPE THIS GUY IS BROUGHT TO JUSTICE, AND I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING HIM ON AMERICAN GREED SOON.

POSTED: Wednesday, August 20, 2014

Clients beware; they recently changed their business name to Robert Smith & Associates a.k.a. Robert Smith and Associates (formerly known as Champion Media Worldwide). These crooks have also changed their website domain to robertsmithpr.info . Please note these reviews and feedback are all for the same company. THEY ONLY CHANGED THEIR BUSINESS NAME LIKE ALL SHADY BUSINESSES DO WHEN THEIR UNDER FIRE. Help spread the word so these con artists won't continue to victimize people.

BEWARE, FAKE RESPONSE, TOTAL LIES, SCAM ARTIST

AUTHOR: TheRealChef - ()

I contacted the "Genoa" Church as well as Mathew Krueger from the link above (www.wrex.com/story/21840665/2013/04/01/easter-miracle-for-genoa-family) and Mr. Krueger said he has NEVER heard of Robert Smith or Champion Media Worldwide.  This guy Robert is a crook and he is using other news reports as fake evidence of publicity work. Be advised, the above rebuttal from "mfkrueger" is a fake post from Champion Media Worldwide themselves. You've been warned.

Recently Contacted

AUTHOR: Not this girl - ()

POSTED: Thursday, November 21, 2013

I was recently contacted by someone from this company to offer to get our business on 5 national talk shows for $1300 per interview - all payable in advance. While I kow that this is a very great rate for this type of national exposure (The Ellen Degeneres Show, Fox Business etc) it seemed too good to be true. I have asked for references or contacts at these networks before signing their contracti - which is nothing more than a word document - no logo or address or anything on it at all. I have not been scamed by this person as of yet - but wanted to add my opinion here. I am not certain whom to report this person to - suggestions?

I had a good experience

I first came to know Robert Smith of Champion Media in 2004 when my wife and I started a small baby product company.  I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical in the beginning, being unfamiliar with how PR worked, however Robert ultimatley got us alot of exposure for the money including and article in Entrepreneur Magazine, Chicago Tribune, and ultimatley got us connected with Target.com of which we started selling our baby product too.  I remember calling Robert to stay on top of the press releases he was sending out and realized it can take time for the media to pick it up.  Robert opened my eyes to how PR works.  Sometimes writers will take your story, sometimes they won't.  You have to understand that going in.

Anyway, in March of this year I went into cardiac arrest while playing basketball.  Some "hero's" jumped in to save my life and used an AED defibrillator.  To make a long story short, I emailed Robert to do me a favor and get the word out about the importance of defibrillators in Churches and Gymnasiums.  He kindly agreed to help me.  He got us a local television/news team to come out to our house to cover the story.  See the story he got us.

I feel the negative review of ripoff report is a little harsh.  Again, you have to understand that PR is not like advertising where you pay for an ad and they have to place it.. It all depends on the writers needs, the timing, and your story when it comes to Public Relations.  I would use Robert again if/when the need arises.
