CHARTER COLLEGE OXNARD CA PAYING THIS SCHOOL 30K FOR RHIT PROGRAM THAT YOU CANNOT BE CERTIFIED IN. CANNOT GET A JOB IN AS HOSPITAL INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY!!! RIP OFF !! MEDIA CONTACT ME I WANT TO FILE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT!!! OXNARD, California

In Novemeber of 2010 I was in the middle of a divorce and knew that I needed a good education. I decided I wanted to work in the medical field as biller and coder. I went to Charter College. I graduated with honors and was always on the deans list.

I gave everything I had to this process. In the middle of our education we were encouraged to switch to the Hospital Information Technology program. We were told that we could work all over from hospitals to clinics to rehab facilities. The majority of my class switched over.

Towards the end of school, I began inquiring about the state certification we were promised in this field. I was told the school is not allowed to proctor the test and will not pay for us to get the materials to study nor would they pay for the test itself over 300.00.

I have voiced my concerns to the assistant Dean because no one can get to the Dean. Her name is Cecilla Burrell. She was useles in trying to help. Her idea was to have us all come back and train for th billing program, the one that we were in orginally. The unfortuanate part is the majority of my class set the time for this education process and now because of bills to pay back 30,000 for a useless degree. (The classes are NOT transferable to colleges and universities laugh at you when you ask.)

We have to work now. In between getting temporary jobs now help in career center from Charter. After numerous phone calls, I was finally able to speak to someone because I drove 20 minutes to the school and refused to leave without help. I spoke to Spellman in Career Services who sent me another 35 minutes away to interview for a part time job 8.00 hr for optical shop in the mall..in Jc Penney. Tell me is this what I was trained and paid 30k for?

I have left yet another message for Burrell and voicing my disgust that continue to offer this program when no GRADUATE will be able to work in that field without certification. You can get study materials over 400.00 from the AHEMA website and then pay another 300+ to take the test. No instruction all homestudy. I also stated in the message Career Services is useless they are no help. 

I would like to file a classaction lawsuit. How do I do that? Does anyone want to sign on to it? This school is a scam!!! Its time for the bell to toll for Charter College nobody should give them a dime. I want to go to the media and tell them and if Burrell doesnt contact me I will have no choice. Media please contact me. Anyone who wants to file a class action lawsuit please contact me.

Enough is enough!!! I graduated with honors on Feb 17 2012 I did not walk the ceremony due to my disgust of what I had just happened. Being duped out of 30k makes it hard to walk across the stage with a smile. I have not had any job in my field. I have worked with a temporary agency for work.
