Chateau Canoga Apartments located in Chatsworth, California 91311 is not worth the cheap rent.  The grounds are very dirty, littered with cans, cigarette butts, and gum.  I have never seen it cleaned in my five months residency.  My apartment had for main appliances broken upon move in, which is consisdered uninhabitable by California law (broken appliances: oven, stove, leaky and non functioning garbage disposal, and a broken dishwasher that had leaves, bobby pins, and rancid water in it.   It took over three weeks to get these appliances fixed, with many appointments completely completely skipped by management without any notification.  The manager then let herself in when ever she pleased,  when a 24 hour notice is required by law.  The manager told us she had these appliances fixed before my move in, while they obviously were not.   I personally saw the manager using the buildings maitence man to shampoo her carpet when she had an appointment to fix one of my appliances. [continued below]....

..... If you tell the manager that you expect her to do get job professionally,  she will tell you that you that she can't handle the 60 units this apartment has.


The manager's husband, ROBERT NAWROTH, battered a tenant by grabbing inappropriately, there is a public police report available from LAPD's Devonshire Division if this battery.

The actual owner of the building admitted to not caring about the building because it is not lucrative and does not care what the manager does, no matter how illegal. I believe he is party of the FALSE ADVERTISEMENT of CHATEAU CANOGA stating online and on two signs in front of the building that there is a jacuzzi and fitness center.   The jacuzzi is never heated, is filthy and not properly sanitized, and the manager has said she has no plans on fixing it because it uses too much power.   The gym has been locked from tenants for over five months because "bums" use it, which is the managers words exactly.  There's no plans on dealing with the problem, indicating that the building is not secure.   The manager also lead me to believe these amenities would be ready for use upon move in.

The manager is rude and recieves free rent, so she barely works.

You left the phone off the hook for 5minutes, your husband came out at me, pushing me.  The police were suprised at how obnoxious your husband acted, taking the police they were too young to do their jobs.  If I truely did that, why didn't a neighbor call 911 for you?  I called the police 30 minutes after the fact, you had ample time to do it, but you both knew what really happened, which is why you did not.   I waited for my husband to get home while I had a neighbor sit in my apartment with me, so don't even try to make excuses.  30 minutes is enough time, even for you, to find a phone is that is what you planned to do. It is obvious you ate playing the elderly card.   I will not make any excuses for myself. You did not have the number ready, your husband stopped you and then came out st me beyond your door step.  You know the neighbors saw and that is why no one ran to your "help," because I was strong enough to get away from you, who told me this is how you deal with tenants.  You laughed when I wanted to talk with you calmly about what you think happened.   And yes, I think you are getting hit.   I'm sorry for that, I don't think anyone deserves to be abused.  That is an opinion of mine that I never wild publish online, but you brought it up.  Good job spilling the beans. 

I never that provez my credibility and your ignorance.  complained I didn't "like" the gym.. I never saw it, it was locked.  That doesn't even line up with the story.  You really aren't able to think straight anymore, and I feel bad for you having to live the way you do.

Besides, that wasn't why I wanted the managers number, but you know you cannot say it was because you missed more than five appointments without any notice before or after and had not provided the lease in due time.  

I'm the one who is offering public record of the police report, not you.  You yourself said you ate still stewing over it, therefore I win.   You made me the center of your world, thanks for giving me that power.   

I still hope you just learn from it and go on peacefully, but it seems futile.   As Rafiki in the Lion King says, "you are a baboon, and I am not!"

pic of building was mistake

The pic I got of the building was from one of Francines adverisements and I failed to notice.  She was the original person to label that photo incorrectly, according to apartments.com.

However, I see I made a mistake there.  It isn't about that pic, though. It's about the lack of communication on manager's side.  I understand she's elderly, but it is no excuse to not do your job properly. That wold be keeping appointments, and taking criticism without hanging up on Daus tenant.   Yes, I yelled at her, but that is all.  She insulted and hung up on me, not acknowledging she never have us our lease or about other complaints about her lack of communication, and no show appointments.  Her lack of response to very serious complaints only reiterates her unprofessionalism.

The advertisements are false and are still false.  A Jacuzzi is defined as  heated, and francine admitted it was not properly maintained and was sued for an infection resulting use of it. Those were her words, I was shocked to hear them. 

Yes, that looks like a fitness room but it was locked to tenants for all of my residency. Supposedly there was a broken window, which should not take over 4 months to fix. The next 3xcuse was that "bums" use the gym, as stated by the buildings owner, Fred Teherani.  She only attacks with ugly words. She should just fix the problems and move on like a professional manager.   I wish her no ill, and tried to talk with her about what she precived happened.  She hung up again.  She has her story backwards and clearly is vengeful.   Not a manager I'd want. 

I now live in a wonderful community where everyone says hello to each other and I'm grateful I have this opportunity.  I am a tax paying, contributing Mehmet of society.   You choose who you believe.

The manager is mistaken

I, the tenant that francine disrespected, did not kick her door.  I have not even wearingnshoes to do so and the police report states that.  I did knock with her door knocker. I wanted the owners number because Francine never came to scheduled appointments and never called to explain why.   She thinks I'm going to give her a complaint about herself and that she'll fax it to her boss?   No.

Francine has had plenty of problems with other tenants, she was sued by a neighbor and the neighbor won.  The reason for suing was that Francine failed to put down tarps over concrete stairs duringThe rain.   It trained while I lived there, I never saw any tarps then either.

I never asked for services after 5:00 pm, that is news to me.  I wanted to let the owner know that perhaps Francine is not mentally able to do this hard job at 78.  The list she is talking about was a list of stains, cracks, and problems slready in the apartment which she refused to write down, in case she tried to blame me.  They weren't a demand list.  This shows she is not cognitively able to perform her job. 


Frsncine's husnand ATTACKED ME.  It is in a police report filed by the LAPD Devonshire Devison.  It states that ROBERT NAWROTH battered his tenant.   I personally spoke with the investigator on this case, who told Francine she had it backwards.  She refused to speak with me or husband about an eviction notice because I did not agree with her on the facts of the police report.  The statements of beating someone up were said by her husband towards me, a very small woman of 5'0 ft.

We got our security deposit back, which only showd the owner knows he is on the wrong.

Francine was rude and told me I was too stupid to know what days were scheduled my apartment maintenence... That is not only rude but unprofessional and shows a disregard for her job.

Other neighbors do not like her, but no one can get the info of the owner, because he himself does not want to bother.   Here it is : Nassir Teherani , aka "Fred."

If Francine wants to admit that she's falsely advertising, she should change the sign and all the online ads.  She has failed to respind to any of our real complaints, like not showing up every time she scheduled maintenance and not bothering to let us know why our when she would show up. Also, I waned a copy of the lease which I never recieved.  She only responds to the complaint about the amenities.  That's very telling of her management style. It's obvious that she really does take her job for granted.

I'm sorry she chooses to live such a hateful, slimy life.

I passed her in the hall many times, saying hello, and she ran the other way.   Very sdult if her, at 78 years of age.

Francine, it makes me smile to know I'm still the center of your day!  I hope you enjoy being so resentful and ugly during your final years.   I pray God touches your heart with kindness instead of revrnge, like you tried to get and failed.   

I'm so much hsppier now that I'm out of that place, it really has a sense of doom all sound it, which is unfortunate. 

By the way, the owner plans on upping the rent next year and my neighbor paid $1100 for her 2 bedroom and we paid $1150 for our one bedroom.   That just plain suckd.

with over 15 years as a apartment manager, i have never had my apartment front door kicked in by a tenant since she wanted the owners telephone number because the jacuzzi was not hot, the workout room was not to her liking and she screamed for over 20 minutes on the phone since i would not supply the owners phone #.  she proceede after i refused to give her the number and instead asked her to write out the issues and i would fax the note with her watchig me to the owner, she continued to scream "i want the number" i placed the phone on the counter and was waiting for her to calm down.  she appeared at my front door screaming and kicking the door, i answered and she continued to scream "she wanted the number" she stood outside my door and screamed at me since i had fallen and had a injury to my face "that my husband beat me", then whilke outside she attached by 78 year old husband and pushed her fingers in his face and said "my husband will beat the s*** out of you" since i am 76 & my husband is 78 we slowly headed for our door to get out of her way.  when inside i had extreme pains in my chest and could not talk, i tried to call the police but since i left my phone of the hok the phone was dead, both my husband & i tried to recover when the police came and told me i should have given her the number.  first of all we do have a working jacuzzi with bubbles (noi heat) second of all the photo listed is not our building, 3rd of all we have a small fitness room.  my current listings for aprtments on craigs list show both the jacuzzi and fitness room as we have had them for over 10 years.  this tenant had no problems with the building all items on the to do list were done within 5 days, she wanted us to do work after 5 p.m. which was not our schedule. the chateau canoga is a family apartment building with many tenants here for over 10 years, and i and the owners take pride in our building, it was a disgrace to have much a sorryful tenant who is simply a troubled soul... i still have not recovered from this insident and cannot wish the couple on any other building
