Checkrite of Montana Fraudulent Collections Bozeman Montana

We had a check for $12 dollars that was returned to our bank for insufficient funds, in 2008 which we paid to 1st Interstate bank along with a $25 dollar NSF charge...  In late 2013, we received a notice from Checkrite of Montana stating that we owed $225 dollars for the same $12 dollar check from 2008! After calling to determine how a five (5) year old check for $12 dollars (which had already been paid) now amounted to $225 dollars, we were told that it had been "placed for collection in 2011" and that Checkrite Montana was now the "debtor".  Checkrite Montana claimed that the $225 balance was from "fees and service charges" which had resulted from the "collection services" which were accumulating interest!  

We reluctantly paid Checkrite Montana the $225 dollars in late October 2013 to resolve the matter and clear up the so-called debt...  

In February of 2014 we sold our home, only to learn that Checkrite Montana had placed two (2) liens against our property, each one for the same $225 dollars!  We have attempted to contact Checkrite Montana to have these liens removed from our property and to remove the debt from my husband's credit report since it has been paid in full TWICE...  

The company refuses to return our calls, and each time we call the office the receptionist states that the "agent in charge of the account is out of the office" and that she "will return calls in the order received".

We are istill n the process of selling our home, and the title company is unable to close the sale due to the two (2) fraudulent liens which Checkrite Montana will not remove!

My husband's credit report also shows a debt to Checkrite of Montana for the same $225 dollars, and this company is simply derelict in its duty to remove this debt which was for a $12 dollar check from over six (6) years ago now!  We are still waiting to sell our home, praying that the buyer doesn't back out due to the extensive and senseless delay which Checkrite Montana will not respond to!  We intend to pursue litigation against this company for failure to remove this "debt" from our credit and the illegal liens they maintain against our home!  Ridiculous and quite frustrating to say the least!
