I've been dealing with Checkworks for many years, but it has been several years since I last ordered from them. They used to be wonderful, and inexpensive.

Apparently, they've changed the way they do business.

I ordered my checks on 1/5/11. I did not pay for expedited shipping, because my experiences with almost every other company I've dealt with Including them) has taught me that this is unnecessary, requiring a wait of perhaps a day or two longer, if at all. In the case of Checkworks, free shipping is a total SCAM. I didn't see it on the original order form, but noticed only a few days ago when I checked the status of my order online, that it could take up to 30 days to get those checks. Why?

I called them on January 24, three weeks after ordering, to find out where my checks were. The very nasty CS rep said that they were mailed January 12th. The company's in California; I'm in Nevada. I asked her if they were sending them by Pony Express, and she snapped "Third Class. You didn't pay for the expedited shipping."

My husband had to go to the post office today, and I asked him to find out how long it should take an envelope (they send them knocked down in an envelope - you put the boxes together yourself) to get from CA to NV by third class, and he was told "three to four days." So where are my checks??

I suspect that one of the changes Checkworks has made is that they're now printing checks in China. That would explain the long delay. After all, they didn't say they were mailed out to ME on January 12th. They could have been mailed from China to Checkworks on that date. Either that, or they are walking my checks across state lines. Even so, they'd have gotten here by now.

I called again today and repeated what the post office told us. A different, yet equally surly, rep repeated that their post office said 10-30 days, so they will do nothing. I also asked where their checks are printed, and he said "right here, in Baldwin Park, CA." That makes it even more aggravating.

It is inconceivable that after a side trip to the moon these checks will miraculously appear. Checkworks' current method of doing business is unethical, and should be illegal. I have no checks and will have to order them from another source and wait again. I am an enraged, and now former, customer. And they don't seem to care.

You get what you pay for

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

Or should I say you get what you DON'T pay for.

Unless you are going to claim that all because of you they corrected their order form and didn't list any times before, not sure how you missed it.

Directly from the Order Form

So if you took advantage of their FREE shipping you need to wait 10-30 days. You are at just about 15 days and it is very common when a company gives you a range of dates you have to figure it will be on the upper end. Regardless of what the USPS told you, they did state 10-30 days on the order form. It was your choice as to the shipping you wanted to get.

Now, if it is another couple of weeks and you still don't have it then you may have a valid complaint.
