Mr. Hale was hired to convert garage into living space. He guaranteed this was a six-week job . . . it took sixteen months before I let him go.

He showed up when he wanted to; never giving explanations for his long absences. He would work partial days and bill for full days. He wanted money up-front for material purchases. I agreed . . . much to my dismay.

His work was sub-par and did not pass inspection. When he was released from this project, he agreed to pay back the $9,000 I gave him for the project. He gave me one payment of $50 and left me hanging high and dry.

It cost me another $9000 with a real contractor to remove what little he had done and replace it with quality work. Guess what? Even with the added step of removing Mr. Hale's work, the second contractor finished the job in three weeks.
