I got contacted by Chicago Top Models thru my Facebook account.  They said to come in and talk to them about modeling because I had real potential.  I asked myself what does that mean so I made an appointment.  I was interviewed by one of the stupidest woman I have ever had the bad luck to meet.  All she wanted to talk about was herself and how she was a former model.  To tell you the truth, if you looked at her you would never believe it.  She is so ugly! And fat!  I believe her name was Maria Sock.  After she gives me this big sales pitch she tells me that if I want to be a model and work with Chicago Top Models I have to do headshots with one of their photographers.  The "cheap" photographer" was going to charge me $500 for one headshot.  THE CHEAP PHOTOGRAPHER?  I'd hate to find out how much the "expensive" photographer charages.  That's one headshot for $500.

When I called the photographer whose name is Kent, he told me that he might be able to do one headshot for $100 but I would have to pay him and I would have to pick up the photography at Chicago Top Models.   Which is it?  $500 or $100
and why is he the "cheap" photographer?

What's the matter with these people?  Who the hell pays $500 for one headshot? And from their "cheap" photographer?  What a waste of time.  When I got home and read all the bad reviews about them, it didn't surprise me.  What I can't figure out is why would anyone ever bother with these people.  They treated me like I was the idiot because I questioned paying the $500 for my headshots. The more I think about it, I'm sure they give the same sales pitch to everyone. I'm sure she tells everyone the same thing. If you have a brain in your head, just don't bother unless you like being attacked with high pressure sales pitches.

Chicago Top Models - Revamped

AUTHOR: BrownSparrow - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, May 29, 2011

Okay, so i have been modeling for almost two years now. Ive been to LA  three times for modeling & Ive been a catalog model & runway as well.

However my passion is acting and that is what I am working towards.

Now, Ive had my headshots and body shots taken from different photographers. TRUST me, I have spent well over $1000 to get my portfolio together! yes, it sucks to have to pay but I wanted GREAT pics. Not good one! I have worked with several different photographers and through trial and error, I managed to find the one who works best with me.

Now, I went to meet with CTM (Chicago Top Models) and I did not have to provide them with a single dime. Why? Because I already HAD my portfolio & resume which had a large enough body of work from the films I have done and the modeling gigs Ive done as well.

So all I was asked to provide them with was an electronic copy of my various headshots & an electronic copy of my resume.

Im not sure how the rest of you were taught but before I decided to enter into this industry, I was told I needed to have my own headshots & a decent resume before going to meet with an agency. And thats what I did. You are complaining about paying almost $1100 for headshots & a comp card but I can promise you I paid way more & I have to keep updating my headshots & comp card every six months. Especially if my look changes!

Two years I have been doing this and I now have such a wonderful body of work, all I need to do is walk into an agency and present them with my portfolio. you need to come prepared if you expect to succeed.....
