Chris Alexander, NorthRidge Farms, Alex Chisholm Purchased a Friesian/ Percheron/ Morgan mare via wire transfer, seller never delivered horse or refunded money. Detroit Michigan

I purchased a 7 year old Friesian/Percheron/Morgan mare, blk with a whi star, 16.3HH 1200lbs from this seller via wire transfer. Seller assisted in setting up a shipper as he claimed he had another horse also being shipped to my area. Shipper ended up being fraudulent, seller claims the horses were dropped off in Chicago and he had to go pick them back up.

Upon "retrieving" the horses, seller offered to simply refund my money and cancel the sale. Due to my inability to drive out and retrieve the horse myself, I agreed. Seller gave a fraudulent confirmation number of the refund wire with his bank, which (obviously) did not come through, then proceeded with 6 weeks worth of excuses as to why my money was not getting returned, blaming mostly his bank, stating they had messed up his accounts.

Seller finally contacted me again stating that if I was still interested in the mare, he would refund me the cost of the shipping ($1000) so that I could arrange another shipper on my own, and then he would just take the reduced price for the mare so the transaction could be completed. I agreed to this with the stipulation that the wire be made along with copies of the vet cert, coggins and a current date-stamped picture be faxed or emailed to me within 48 hours.

I never heard from Alex again. He does not answer his phone or emails. I am now out $3200 for this horse and am told I have no legal options as this is a civil case.

Anyone looking at purchasing a mare matching this description in the MI area, BEWARE!!!! This is probably MY horse.
