I bought a puppy from Christian Philipe at 2550 Imperial Ave.  At first, I called about an ad I saw in oodle.com for a chiuaua/yorkie mix.  When he answered, I assumed he was a private person who was getting rid of a litter.  When I showed up, found out it was a pet shop with no name.  I hesitated but went inside.  It appeared sparse.  Only two dogs in the place.  I looked at the dog and asked questions.  He was quick to answer the questions and said the dog had been wormed and vaccinated against parvo.  The dog was by this time in the early part of 9 weeks.  So, the puppy looked round and playful.

I was a bit curious why he only took cash...should have known better.  Anyway, to make a long story short...I took the dog home.  I took her to a well vet visit the next day.  They said she definately had worms.  They treated her for worms.  By the following day, she was throwing up huge round worms and passing them at the other end as well.  I took her back to the vet because she was lethargic.  They thought she was just worming but, I was concerned about how down she was.  They did a last minute parvo test and she tested positive.  I rushed her to the hospital.  Some dogs can be saved if parvo is caught quick enough.  After taking her to the hospital, I called Christian.  He seemed concerned and told me to bring the dog back.  I told him I couldn't cause she was in the hospital.  I told him I wanted my money back.  The next day, I got a letter from my regular vet stating the dog had parvo and was in the hospital.

I returned to his store where, incidentally...he is only there if you call him to meet you there.  So, he met me there and gave me back my cash.  Said he was sorry and had me sign my receipt...he then added "case closed" to the receipt.  He gave me some disinfectant and told me to disinfect my entire yard and house...how thoughtful.  I asked how they other dogs in the litter were and he said they were fine.  I found out later that there had actually been 8 dogs in the litter and that 7 had already perished.  He had originally told me there were only 3 in the litter.

To make this already long story even longer...the puppy was in the hospital for 10 days.  She died.  Not of the parvo but probably of encephalitis or some other disease she was just too weak to fight off.  Anyway, I am very saddened that the dog did not survive.  I'm even sadder that this guy continues to do business unabated.  I did report him to humane society and they tell me that there are several open cases on him.  If you are a consumer looking for a dog...don't do what I did.  Go to a reputable breeder.  This will put these guys out of business.

It is horrible the suffering these animals go thru with this one broker.  I hope he can be stopped.

chihuahua-8 weeks, Maltipoo 8 weeks

It seems that this seller is having difficulty selling on free ads and has begun buying ads in the San Deigo Classified online ads.  If a person is looking for a chihuahua or a maltipoo, these ads have been added to on line classifieds.  I have contacted the classified investigation but have not had a response yet.  Buyer beware of the chihuahua and maltipoo seller.  I have also seen this seller soliciting on line ads to obtain dogs from Mexico via online ads within mexico.    His ads all say " 1 yr health guarantee" and he only deals in cash.

Hi

We also had the same problem and published our complaints as an ad on www.backpage.com and www.craigslist.com and oodle.com.

These are all the locations he advertises. You may want to also do that as well

Also we have called Michael Turko of KUSI ( 858-571-3453) .  If you also call it might help our cause to get this on the TV

something I forgot

When I took my dog to the hospital.  They estimated the dog was much younger than was represented to me.  I have no proof if the dog was indeed younger than 9 weeks when I admitted her to the hospital.  I would encourage anyone in San Diego area to be aware of where your animal comes from and really check out the source before making your purchase.  Also, he is being investigated by the Humane Society as there are other open cases against him and his pet shop front.
