I am beyond furious with Chrysller Capital! I knew in my gut this was not handled eventhough they said it was. First of all they make it virtually impossible to speak to a human on the phone which makes the situation even worse. In a nutshell, I cosigned a loan for a car. The lady driving the car, ran over a mattress in the highway which caught the car on fire and the car was totalled. It took way to long to get the claim handled and they kept saying a  bill was due when others at the company were saying nothing was due because the car was not in her possession and wa totalled unable to drive. We had gap insurance which luckily covered the balance after insurance. I spoke with several people that assured me no one turned anything into the credit bureu. That was my main concern, that my or the lady i cosigned with credit would be messed up. I wote letter too.

almost a whole year later i get a copy of my credit report after something was denied. They said because of over due balance. First thing I see is CHrysler Capital saying a payment was 120 past due. this whole situation was closed many months ago with gap paying them the balance of $8,300.41 They assured me over and over would not afect my credit score....also this whole process was like "Whose on first" going around in circles with one person telling me one thing, another telling me something else..... a complete nitemare from hell.

Warning to people, do NOT buy a car using Chyrsler Capital . You will be sorry. We boughtit thru Jim Burke Automotive in Birmingham, AL. Also words of advise do buythe GAP insrunace. It is so worth the money. You never know what  might happen. Im refraining from using bad language here, because I am beyong mad.

Calm Down!

First things first...never, ever co-sign on a loan with anyone!  Secondly, You have the right to dispute this matter with any or all of the three credit bureaus.  I suggest you do it.  What will be a factor here is when were they paid off versus when the missed payment was due.  You were on the hook for each and every payment whether or not the car was totalled until they were paid off in full.  You probably have that information, as to those dates.  Check it out and hopefully you have a case!
