CIC Credit Monitor Scam, fraudulent billing, ripoff, misleading web advertisements Orange CA

Several months ago, I "found" an offer on the web for a free credit check, and decided to try it. According to the information provided by CIC Credit Monitor, the company offering this "free" service, a $79.95 (yearly, I believe) fee would be charged to my Visa after 30 days, were my account with CIC not cancelled.

I got my credit report, cancelled my account, and forgot all about it, until I noticed a charge to my card the next month from CIC*CREDIT MONITOR SVC.

I was a bit upset, since I had no clue what this charge could have been.

I found ripoffreport.com through a Google search, and realized what had happened. Two emails to and no response from helpconsumerinfo@consumerinfo.com later, I contacted my credit card company to begin the process of disputing the charge. I decided to call CIC's "customer service" line, and spoke to one of their representatives, who told me that disputing the claim would not be necessary, that he would RE-cancel (since that's essentially what he was doing) my account and make sure the charge was removed.

I considered the matter done with.

Until a few minutes ago, when I was again checking my credit card statement online, and found YET ANOTHER CHARGE from these scumbag, lying con-artists. This one was for $64.20.

I will once again be contacting CIC, and my credit card company, now...the fact that I have to go another round with these lowlifes is absolutely disgusting.
