CIC Triple Advantage ripoff scam thought i had already cancelled Irvine California

I remember when I signed up with CIC in the beginning of January. I did it because I heard on the news that we were allowed one free credit report per year (now I realize that CIC is not associated with that law).
Basically I just did it out of curiosity. I thought I could just see the report and then turn around and immediately cancel. I thought that was what I had done.
I emailed them immediately after I signed up, asking them to please cancel my account. I never recieved any other feed back, so I just assumed that was all I needed to do (we should never ASSUME anything!).
They charged my credit card account five times at $12.95, and once for $25.90 before I noticed. That's about 100 bucks!

I have emailed them once more asking them to cancel my registration with them. I'm still not sure if this has worked. I feel ripped-off and taken advantage of.
All in all, it was a valuable lesson for me. Never believe that ANYTHING is free, always read the fine print, always keep track of your statements, and make sure you repeat your request for cancellation many times. To be sure, just don't take the risk.
What an outrage! I feel so stupid and gullable! I feel ripped-off!
