i did receive what i thought was "free" credit report. i was never given any information about any "membership" or that i had signed up for one.
so on october 1, 2003(of course it would be at the beging of the month) i noticed an unaccouted for charge on my account. the description for the charge only said "cic credit mon", my bank doesn't give good descriptions for debits or credits untill the monthly statement. so i typed what i knew in google and this site came up.
after reading about the rip off i called my bank, got the number to cancel my card and canceled it. checking on my account this evening (october 2, 2003), i saw that i had received another charge of 79.95.

All i did was call during business hours, tell the operator i wanted to cancel and he said i would be refunded in 7 to 10 days, even though i was outside of the 30 day trial. 5 days later, and i am happy to say i have received all of the money they took out of my account.
