This is another fine example for the greediness of american insurance companies: I had a tenant employed by Cigna and I tried to verify her employment. When I tried to talk to payroll, the answer was "what is this about ?" if you want to verify her employment go to www.theworknumber.com this website requires a user to sign up for a monthly subscription costing about $ 70,-

The tenant was not aware of this and I believe that this employer should tell its employees to inform potential landlords or other people who have an interest in verifying the employment status that there is a fee involved.

I believe that this is a total ripoff and not justified. It takes payroll about 1 minute to find out if a person is still on the payroll or not. I filed a complaint with the Arizona Attorney General but obviously they believe that its ok to charge for a simple employment verification. I was wondering how far they are able to go ? $ 100,- ? $ 200,- ? $ 10,000.- ??????? to make this practice illegal....
