I had over $4000.00 in fraud on my Citi bank credit card. In the beginning, they assured me I would never be responsible for any fraud charges. I reported this to the local police & tried to have man arrested.
About a month later, Citi put back the fraud charges on my account & said that:
I should have monitored the account more closely".
I am disabled & was in bed for over 2 years, and not able to "monitor" the use of my citi credit card.
When I called to question Citi's Fraud Team, they called me:
"a liar, you're nothing but a liar"!!
Then I asked for a supervisor and told her and she said they would "discipline" this agent!
This is no way for a bank or any business to operate.
They claim that I owe them almost $4000.00 that I did NOT charge, good luck getting a penny from me!
Be smart and stay away from Citi Credit Cards!

Being Disabled Has Nothing To Do With This

You used a computer to post this message. You could have used the computer to REGULARLY check your credit card account to make positive there was no funny business going on.
There are limitations involving liability with each scenario affected by a time frame. If you failed to file the dispute within the time frame, then they are correct in telling you what they did.
What is the time frame in all of this and how did the crooks make the purchases? Those things matter.

What does being disabled and in bed for 2 years have to do with anything? You obviously have an Internet connection and could have checked on-line. Even so you must have been paying on your bills so would have been able to look at some statements.
So exactly when did this fraud occur? When did you finally report it?
You said you "tried" to have the man arrested. This would mean that you know who did it. So why didn't the police arrest him?
Why haven't you gone after this man in civil court for illegal use of your credit card?
