City Of Buda, Texas ripoff highest water rate Buda Texas

The City of Buda's water rate went up from $1.67 per 1000 gallons to $8.14 per 1000 gallons. We can not change services because we live in the city. I spoke to the Bobby G. Mathis - City Administrator about my concerns. I was told that the city was charging more because new growth was expected in the area and someone had to pay for the growth. He told me that there was nothing I could do about the rate increase. I explained that the water rate was the highest in the area, even Austin. He told me that the increase was needed since the city was growning.

I checked into filing a complaint with the state about price gouging. I was told that no agency regulated the city's water rates.

I need some help to fight the rate increase. My bill went from $54.00 a month to $192.00 a month.
