I was also pulled over in this town while taking my family on vacation. I'll be the first to admit, according to the signs I was speeding. 60 in a 50. I'll pay my ticket and be done with it. The problem is that, according to Wikipedia, Estelline, TX is the number two speed trap in the state! Michael Warren, the only cop for this massive city of 155 people which covers a whopping 0.7 acres didn't even have the decency to look me in the eyes and mumbled when he told me about the infraction before he handed me the ticket he had already written out before he even got to my window!

I'm all for following the law, but it should be illegal for the sherriff in this one horse town to sit around all day giving tickets to passersby that will be in and out of his town in less than 60 seconds. Endangering the safety of others by speeding is one thing, but this is clearly a case of a town sherriff using the highways to line his city's pockets.

When I tried to plead my way out of it he said, "What if this had been a school zone?". Well in that case I bet their signs would have been a little better and they would have given motorists a little more space to slow down. And I looked it up. The town doesn't even have a school! They had to integrate with another town's school district! Phaww!

I am usually a supporter of law enforcement, but I don't know how this man sleeps at night!

While I am aware that the internet is not a reliable source of factual information, when referenced properly it can be an invaluable. You obviously did not RTFA or you would know that I used Wiki as a reference to demographic information collected by the US Census Bureau.

And no, if I was pulled over in a place where a reduction of speed from 70 to 50 was obviously justified (or even remotely justified) I would not call it a speed trap. If you have ever seen this place you would understand, but I doubt it since you probably sit at your computer trolling all day long.

- Yea when I want to do research, Wiki is ALWAYS my primary resource....LMAO

I'll be the first to admit, according to the signs I was speeding. 60 in a 50.
- So if you got a ticket somewhere else for going 10 MPH over the speed limit would you make the same "speed trap" claim?
