City of San Diego Treasurer Collections Division They report PAID IN FULL accounts to the Credit Bureaus as "CHARGED OFF" San Diego, California

Does their policy over ride the Fair Credit Reporting Act?  Especially if you file a dispute with the credit bureaus?  I filed a dispute that my account was paid in full and the City responded with "the current reporting is correct accurate" no changes to be made.  Really?  I paid in full, the credit bureau asked you to verify if I paid in full and their response was no, that my account was charged off.  Now I have to file a 632 dispute with the City directly and eventually will have to sue them to remove it.  It's bitter sweet.  If I have to sue, they may have to pay $1000 per violation plus attorney fees.  

Know your rights.  They have to remove it, it's just a matter of how much you will have to go through to get it done.  It wont be long before a class action attorney picks this up.
