In early November of 2017 I saw a Chevy Silverado 2500 posted on Craigslist for $14,000. It seemed like a good deal, I contacted CJ about the truck and we made a plan to meet up and do the transaction. He explained to me he was a dealer and bought and sold several cars a month. He told me how he bought a Porshe Cayane up by me in Chicago and would knock some money off the price of the truck if I picked up the car and brought it to him. I agreed and I drove 16 hours from where I was down to Monroe Louisiana to meet him.

He wanted to meet at his other place of employment which was a scuba diving shop in West Monroe LA. I thought that was a little goofy considering he was a dealer and I was buying a vehicle from him but I went with it and bought the truck. CJ seemed like a really nice guy, straight forward and to the point. Even offered to buy me lunch. He took a copy of my drivers license and insurance just like dealers do and he made me fill out bogus dealer paper work just like dealers do. He also went as far to give me an old dealer temp tag from a different car he bought from a different dealer. (This turned out to be his nail in the coffin because I was eventually able to call the dealership name that was on this temp tag when I found out what was really going on.)

Anyway CJ explained to me how the title would have to be processed just like most dealerships do and I would have the title in a few days tops. I foolishly believed him and headed home. A week went by and no title came, 2 weeks went by no title came, a month went by and no title came. After this I knew something was up, CJ kept telling me excuse after excuse,  lie after lie. He was either out of town, super busy, it got lost, he already sent it, he sells $50k cars and my little transaction means nothing to him, ect ect.......

After all this I decided to do my own digging. I read on this website other peoples expierences with CJ which were very similar to mine. I found out he was not at all a dealer. I contacted the LA DMV and found out there was a lien on the vehicle. The DMV led me to the lien holders and I found out not a dime had been paid on the truck and they were holding the title. The lien holders told me the truck was in his dads name David Brossett. When I tried to get ahold of David he would not return my calls. When I confronted CJ on all of this over the phone he told me I was acting like a crazy person, he told me I was out of my mind and I didnt know what I was talking about. He made it sound like any normal person wouldnt care about not getting a title for their vehicle and wouldnt care that there is a lien on their vehicle. He took the money I gave him and ran off with it without paying off his lien on the truck. Im left with a truck I cant register or do anything with. CJ didnt care. I contacted the local authorities and let them know what was up and come to find out this guy has quite a record.

All of these reports are true! Dont do buisness with this guy at all costs. He is a fraud and he will lie and lie again. He doesnt know the truth if it hit him in the face. He doesnt know the meaning of the word honestly. He is not a dealer. He does not have any money. He sells things he doesnt own and will do it with a straight face. I only wish I would have read all of these reports before I met up with him and wasted my time and money.

Over a year later I was able to obtain a title for my truck in my name through my states abandoned vehicle bi-laws and the lien holder was working with CJs father David to pay their lien off. Lots of headache, lots of wasted time and a pile of lies. Dont do business with this guy.
