On July 31, 1999, I(Jimmy Thompson) went to the Sam's Store in North Charleston, SC and purchased a tire for my truck. The technician(name unknown; description: white male, 6ft., bearded, thin in statue) replaced the tire on the truck. After leaving Sam's, I traveled about a mile and stopped at Sears. Getting out the truck and going around to help my mother out, I noticed my truck was damaged. To my surprise it was not mentioned by the technician, I returned to Sam's to make a report.

Returning to the Tire Service area, waiting to be helped, the same techmician who worked on my truck looked at me for about 30 seconds then continued to work on another car within less than a minute he came and said; what's wrong. He did no say; if I can help you, but what's wrong . I said you damaged my truck and that I need to see the manager. He did not go into the store to get the manager he went outside and looked at the truck then went to find the manager. He returned with Genene Cook, Operation Manager along with Scott Chabel, Store Manager. Pictures were taken of the damaged and Genene Cook said someone from Sam's insurance compaly will contact me. She also said there was some damage to the truck and that the insurance company will probably want me to get two or three estimates and I said okay I can do that.

Two weeks went by before a Namoi McLead called from Claims Management, Inc. (CMI) and asked for a statement on the incident. After many attempts to contact Ms. McLead on the status of my claim I finally received a call from Frank Lucciarini, Case Manager at CMI, who said according to his investigation and after talking with the technician at Sam's the incident was not caused by Wal-Mart (Sam's), therefore this case is closed.

I strongly disagreed with him. Mr. Lucciarini suggested that I return to Sam's in North Charleston for a re-enactmint of the incident. I told him that I live in West Columbia which is 110 miles away from North Charleston and I was not going there. However, I stopped into one of the Sam's in the Columbia area and asked one of the technicians to please use the floor jack to lift my truck in an effort to remove the tire, which he did. While lifting my truck, he said if I lift anymore I could damage your truck, I said (to myself) that is what I wanted to hear. I explained to him what had happen to me in North Charleston. He said: this could happen to someone if they were not paying close attention. I further stated the temperature was 110 degree, the store was crowded, work was backed up and it was said that lunch break wasn't taken by the technicians that day.

I have been a member of Sam's since 1981 in Columbia, South Carolina and would like to be treated fair. Sam's technician damaged my truck andI want it repaired. This is a disappointment to me of the customer courtesy extended to a unjust situation.

Sincerely,

Jimmy Thompson
