Much as we would like to see justice done - if there is any justice in Augusta, we have come to the conclusion that dealing with their legal system is like tilting at wind mills. An attorney close to our case actually admitted that Dr. Frey's report was concocted in compliance with the wishes of the judge and the opposing attorney. The longer the case drags on the more fees they all collect. The public seems to believe that because Dr. Frey is licensed that he must be above repoach; but it is generally recognized in the medical and psychiatric communities that many, if not most 'psychologists' are seriously inadequate or outright quacks. What a cushy 'profession'. No heavy lifting, no long hours, no blood, no needles, no surgery, just lots and lots of easily manufactured BULLSHIT for lots and lots of money. All that and the supreme protection of the court, which doesn't question them and doesn't allow us to question them either. The naive client is impressed and intimidated by their mostly meaningless psychological jargon and who dares to question their expertise? We did, and were forced in effect, to pay a hefty ransom for our efforts. If any of them, in this cozy little system admitted to the stupidity, corruption and political skulduggery it might unravel their very profitable ball of wax. At one point we were held in contempt for withholding visitation because the court approved supervisors were grossly negligent and unqualified. Where do they find these clowns? Then we were advised, not too subtly, that we (and by extension the child) would pay 'big time', if we meddled with the court. This is just the tip of the iceberg. I could fill pages with the appaling details of the series of atrocities caused by Dr. Frey's mendacity. The court interrogation was a farce: evidence was ignored and dismissed: witnesses were intimidated. We felt like characters in a Franz Kafka novel. A nightmare. We wish you the best of luck in your crusade. Perhaps some other parents will be prepared in advance.
