I ordered a turntable stand from classicaudio.com advertised as 35" tall with a drawer and two shelves for $120. They sent me (very quickly) a stand with no drawer and one shelf 25" tall (available on ebay for $14.99).
When I complained, they offered to refund me $25. I demanded all my money back which they agreed to pay plus shipping upon return of the item. They did refund my original payment, but of course did not refund the cost of returning the unwanted cheap substitution to them.
I am out $43, they are out nothing for having tried to dump a cheap substitute on me. I can't imagine this is the first or the last time they will have pulled this scam. I suppose they expect you to accept the price reduction without knowing just how cheap the substitution is. Whatever you do you get screwed by this company.
