In Nov. 07, I was vacationing in Daytona Beach at the Grand Seas Resorts. I attended a timeshare sales promotion. The salesmen, Mr. Cooper and Mr. Kirby
were very nice and gave a great sales pitch, one of those "Sounds too good too be true." Well it certainly was just that!!! That should have clued me in!! I feel I was lied to, deceived and mislead by fraudulent inducement. I had a friend present who also witnessed all of the deception.

I purchased a timeshare there in Daytona consisting of a points system. Intially, I was very excited about the investment. But after returning home and trying to deal with this company, it quickly became clear and made me realize I had invested in a very deceptive and untruthful company.

I was reassured that I could use them anytime, anywhere in their resorts and would have no trouble getting reservations, even at the last minute. Well that was a joke. I have tried making reservations at their "all-inclusive" resorts, only to be told there is no availablity. And if there were, I would have to pay $438.00 per person(2) to get the all-inclusive rights.

I have tried e-mailing to make other reserations with no response or returned emails. And 2 days ago when I tried to call and make reservations. guess what? Was told I owed more fees and dues. I was told at the signing by Mr. Lepak that my first year was waived. They now say I have to pay $600+ more dollars!!! What a rip-off!!

So now myself and my friend have 2 weeks of vacation scheduled in less than a month and no way to use it. But they dont seem to want to work with me. Numerous calls unanswered and almost always get an answering machine.

I also own 2 other timeshares by Marriott. I did not want to have a monthly payment and these guys ASSURED me that they could get my property sold in approximately 50-90 days!!! They even quoted me prices!!!! I even phoned Mr. Cooper about a month later and he REASSURED me not too worry it would all work out. That didn't happen of course, and now its 4 months later and lots of wasted money.

I was also told I would receive a FREE cruise for a week and a FREE 4 day-3 night stay at a resort of my choice. These were not FREE as they all had substanial fees attached to them. Once again deceived.

I unfortunately even gave them some referrals :( I have tried to tell all of them not to even take their calls. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. They deceive and deliver nothing except to suck more money from me. They dont answer calls in a timely manner and they pass the buck to others. I have even had several emails returned to me, not sure but I think they blocked them.

So, I would advise not to deal with Club Navigo and if you do go to a sales pitch, take along a tape recorder to protect yourself. But be smart and skip it all together, esp. if you want quality!!!

I am now a timeshare owner.  I bought a timeshare for $50 through the internet.  The man we bought it from was asking $1000 but eventually agreed to $50.  He really just wanted out of maintenence fees.  I initially offered $1.   We are here now and the accomodations are wonderful, but the maintenence fees, about $750, are way too high.  Overall I am pleased with my timeshare experience so far.

Anyway, the reason for this post is to inform potential time share buyers that the "best price" for a timeshare is usually $0 and just pay maintenence fees.  We attended a time share presentation while were down here.  The original price was $35000.  I told him it he made it $0 "I would consider it".  After about 2 hours of begging and pleading they came back with a final offer of "free".  Over 2 hours the price went from $35000 to $30000 to $20000 to $10000 to $0.  He said that I had said I would take it for free.  I reminded him that I only said "I would consider it".  I told him that I considered it and my answer was "no".  After another 10 minutes of begging and telling me about his sick children we were finally told the presentation was over and given our discounted Disney tickets.  My daughter was biting her lips to keep from laughing.

I used to feel sorry for these salesmen, but no more.  They should get honest jobs where they don't have to lie and cheat people for a living.  I suggest everyone go get your discounted tickets.  If you really want a timeshare just tell them up front you will accept it for free, not a penny more.

If you are feeling so great about this timeshare, I will sell you mine. this company is just like all the other big timeshare companys, once they get your money, they have it and you are not getting it back. The timeshare people showed us the Grand Seas and their salesman was nothing but a liar. When you actually get to where you sign the papers, you should stop there and turn around. you look at the Grand seas but you are sold The Cove. big let down. but like I said, I will be glad to sell you mine. thanks, sue lockwood

Suppot of Club Navigo/Island One Resorts, Daytona Beach/Orlando, Florida

AUTHOR: Bob Doyle - (Canada)

POSTED: Monday, April 27, 2009

Just as an opinion to the above complaint against Club Navigo/Island One Resorts. My wife and myself recently returned from a vacation in Daytona Beach, where we attended a Time Share Presentation by Club Navigo. I must say Jennifer, Gene, and everyone else treated us with the utmost respect the entire time we were there. At no time did we feel pressured into buying a Time Share Unit, nor were we led to beleive that we could trade our Unit (if purchased) for any All Inclusive Resorts anywhere. We at no time felt deceived, lied too, or anything else but respect. We did purchase one of their "Explorer" Packages which we will use next year, and it is our intent to purchase a Time Share Unit within the next 18 months or so. I feel that Marsha and David have misunderstood, or simply expected more out of Club Navigo than what they were promised. I am proud to say that we have attended many other TIme Share Presentations and if there was anyone we would purchase from, it certainly would be CLub Navigo/Island One Resorts. It was a pleasure to deal with them. I would certainly recommend them and have sent at least two couples to see and attend thier presentation. We hope in the near future tobe full owners of a Time Share through Club Navigo. I write this rebuttal without any prejudice against nor towards the Club nor those that were not satisfied by the Club.

Support for Marsha

AUTHOR: David - (U.S.A.)

In my view the Director's rebuttal only serves to strenthen Marsha's complaint. Marsha is not complaining about what the "forms clearly disclose" or what she was told after the sale. Her complaint is that she was lied to DURING the sale. This seems to be the common theme in all the complaints about this club.

Instead of explaining things and typing rebuttals why not just give Marsha what she states she was promised. The problem is these timeshare professionals have been so conditioned to lie, cheat and steal that doing the right thing never even occurs to them. It's sad so many people in the great state of Florida have sold their souls for the timeshare dollar.

Executive Director of Member Services

IN response to Marsha's complaint with Club Navigo: Club Navigo is a points-based system and everything is based up availability. Marsha e-mailed me in February looking for an all-inclusive resort in the Punta Cana for March (1 month). I informed Marsha that her points are good for her accommodations only and that if she chose to go to an all inclusive resort she would have to pay for the all-inclusive fees. I asked her if she would like to vacation in Florida at no cost (using her points) but she declined because she had already been to Florida. I went over all the different possibilities of vacations and the fees involved if she traveled OUTSIDE of the Club Navigo resorts. I truly wanted Marsha to have a wonderful vacation and we e-mailed each other on numerous occasions trying to make this happen.

As for the guaranteed re-sell of her other timeshare, we have copies of her signed resale forms. The forms clearly disclose that we are submitting the information as a referral only.

She states that she received a FREE cruise for a week and a FREE 4 day-3 night stay at a resort of her choice. These certificates are complimentary and are FREE from any point usage.

Club Navigo has gone above and beyond to try and assist Marsha with her membership as we do with ALL our owners. We have even gone so far as to pay her 2008 maintenance fees and taxes to accommodate her. We would never want any of our owners to be dissatisfied with their membership. I let Marsha know that we were very concerned with her report and that we are more than willing to assist her in any way we can.
