Cluff Property Management, LLC James Isaiah Black Mold mishandled, single mom and 3 severely sick children - ignored and blamed Mesa Arizona

 I moved in the end of June, 2015. The A/C was not working properly and I called it in. My children and i had to wait 4 days to move in because thats how long it took for the apartment to cool down. By the end of July the A/C stopped working, altogether. I called it in and they said someone will come to fix it, I stayed home that day to let them in. No one came. I only assume that something was done, because it kinda-sorta worked from then on. (By that, I mean it didn't get over 80 degrees. Though, it didn't get below 78, either...).In September, I was billed for this repair. When I receivd the bill my lease was highlighted where it says I am to keep a clean filter in the A/C. The letter said it was my fault because I had a dirty air filter. I told them, via email, that I change my airfilter every month and that this bill needed to be removed from my account. They have billed me late fees ever since and continuously ignore all of my attempts to communicate regarding this matter. Fast forward to December. My children and I have been sick over and over with headaches, congestion, bronchitis, stomach aches, etc. My 2yr old spent 8 weeks running a fever over 104 every night! In December, I found the walls in the closet were covered with Mold and were so wet they looked like they were melting. I immediately reported it. The 'repair' guy they sent knew nothing about Mold or how to fix the leaks. He left the apartment exposed to the mold and leaks continued because he didn't repair them. Everytime I reported that the problem was ongoing, he would show up at my door and not fix the problem. The mold and leaking was left open and ongoing for a month. My children and I became more and more sick. This month, alone, all 4 of us had sever sinus infections, ear infections, vomiting, diharea and pneumonia. All this time unable to use the upstairs bathroom (only bathtub) because the leaks had not been repaired. January 2016, they sent a different repair guy who actually identified the problems and quickly repaired all the leaks. Because the first 'repairman' left the leaks so long we had to wait a couple weeks before he could put up the walls of the closet. This left the main electrical line exposed and my children and I exposed to the mold even longer. We continued to be sick with second bouts of pneumonia, sinus infections, bronchitis and intestinal problems. All the while, Cluff Property Mngmnt continued to be in-responsive inspite of my many different attempts to communicate. February, in a desperate attempt to 'force' communication, I sent a certified letter stating that I was withholding rent until this matter was resolved. I heard nothing from them. No calls, no emails. No communication, whatsoever from them. Until I received an email from Deborah on the morning of the 18th saying if I didn't pay the full balance on my acct by the 19th, they would take me to court. I tried to open communication with her to get the problems resolved and, as usual was ignored. The following evening, I was served a summons to appear in court and immediately evicted. They also attached a copy of a five day notice that says it was sent on the 8th of February. I never received this! Had I received this, we would not be going to court. No matter what I do, I am ignored. None of my attempts at communicating have been answered. I am angry at the injustice and disrespect that has occurred in trying to deal with this company. Problems continue to compound and grow the longer I stay.
